It's a matter of making an effort...not a pseudo effort. I kind of question your appreciation for art and this community if you feel fine submitting something like this.

While I don't like Dave personally. I must say that doing a quick effortless piece that relies more on the humor of it than the actual quality of the artwork is something I do all the time. Matter of fact, I did it with that stupid pop can on the last contest. I respect you Dr. Moony, you're an excellent artist, but I gotta go with Dave on this one. And yes I could have sat back and enjoyed watching Dave take a hit from someone other than me, I felt I had to go against my first instinct and do what I felt was right.
Dave's "art" completely lacks any love for shapes, color, depth, movement,.... It seems like he doesn't care one bit.
It's depressing and makes his comments seem like empty shells.
heh heh, I like it for the sense of humour the most,and yes, he caught the spirit of Lawrence, i would say.I actually hate Lawrence Welk's show,I groaned every time it was on; us oldsters want THE BEATLES!!!HA HA.
Yeah, that overly critical critique of this poster is way off; this is not brain surgery,or rocket science,, guys. Those people actually get PAID for what they do!!I don;t think people on this site should be overly harsh on artists. So, everyone on the site is good, as far as I'm concerned. (Did you know, one person in 6 billion people, can earn a living off creative work?) Years ago,I saw very successful commercial artists,and they got paid CRAP, and treated like shit. And they were the successful ones. Fine artists had it even worse. Yeah, you're right, we need a sense of humour here, we just do art to enjoy it. That's what it's meant for. (my opinion.)
Well not for nothin,,but I'm 62, I've had no art training, and I don't aspire to be the next Michaelangelo, so I draw for fun when I have any time and/or energy, so I don't have the passion of youth for any of it. Feel free to ignore, as the others do, don't bother me any. I comment on what I like, or looks good to me. feel free to ignore those too. No problem. Oh.. and. hey.. lighten up..you;ll enjoy life more
Dr Moony talks as if he expects everyone to have or be in school to get an art degree in order to not offend artists on this site. I enjoy drawing on line and have not had any art training and there are a few people here that like to point that out. I see what Dave is trying to do and I dont see the problem with it
