Hi 2Draw Artists,

I'm a PhD student at the Georgia Institute of Technology studying Art and Technology, and I find the community and tools at 2Draw particularly interesting. I am studying how technology affects the creative process and working to design new creativity support tools to help facilitate artistic creativity. From what I have seen on the site, there are some great artworks and remarkable collaborations that happens here, and I want to study how artists are leveraging the features of this site to augment their creative process. As a first step in this endeavor, I have created a survey and would be very grateful if you could help propel this work forwards by taking the survey. It should only take about 15 minutes. This work will commence in steps and this survey will help me understand areas of interest to investigate further by more in depth methods such as interviews.

The survey is located at: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/407435/2Draw-Artist-Survey

Thank you for your time and I would truly appreciate your contribution. Feel free to tell your friends on the site about this survey as well. As an artist myself, I am passionate about designing and developing new tools to help facilitate creative expression. This work is important to me, and I look forward to learning from the amazing artists here at 2Draw.

Edit: I updated the survey to a shorter version to focus more directly on the feature of this site that I am interested in.

well, that was all about animation.

Yeah, I am particularly interested in the the animation feature of the site. The other survey had some more general questions, but I didn't want to burden people too much. I really just want to know how the animation is affecting how people think about the piece. I am interested in the process aspect of creativity and want to develop methods for artists to visualize their creative process, including changing goals and problems, but I think the animation here is an interesting first step towards recording the creative process.

Well, people can see how you drew or painted it, from the first. But as to "the procedure of creativity",no,animation does not show that. That goes on inside your head, and is not just affected by technology. And if you want me to take a survey,I tell you, like I tell all other survey takers who ask me,"pay me to take a survey,I do not do it for free." I know, you're an artist, but you may as well get used to the marketing aspect; people who take surveys, should get paid for it, as the marketing people get paid to do marketing, and research work.
