Whenever I try to open lascaux lately I get a message that "the application's digital signature has an error"... that it is expired. If I click cancel, I can draw. I have not tried to click OK. Marcello, do you know what it's all about?

He should make a non java reliant (I think the current one is) lascaux app for the upcoming mac app store (I heard java won't be allowed there) so we can work in offline mode and then submit things through the app straight to our account here. Then there could be like a $19.99 one time only download fee for the app? Multiply that by maybe a few hundred people downloading it or something. If 200 people downloaded it then even with the 30% cut apple takes that'd be $2798.60. I would download it. The app wouldn't be required to draw here since most people don't have macs (suckers), but it'd be a really easy way to support the site and give the advantage of offline drawing and saving. We could finger paint on a phone like that too.

I thought my mom's ipod touch was an mp3 player, but she has yet to play a single song on it. Instead she browses the web and reads books. @_@

davinci: the new version is not online

lori: there is no digital signature on Lascaux Sketch. you should never get a message like that unless something is wrong with your computer.

tanuki: it costs a lot more than $2800 to write a program like Lascaux Sketch. Figure at least half a year of development. you would want to sell at least 10k copies (which is not exactly big leagues) for it to start making sense. And at $20, that's unlikely without a big advertising budget.

An app for what? The not-even-yet-released mac app store? Or iOS?

the soon-to-be-release mac app store that I've been hoping for for so long~

I can't really say iOS since I don't have an ipad/phone and only have access to an ipod touch, so it'd be like me asking for something I probably wouldn't be able to use.

I would buy a lascaux app even if it was a few times more than I quoted before. I'm just not sure how much others would want/be able to spend.

what makes the mac app store any different from buying mac apps regularly? the apps are exactly the same, it's just how you pay for it and download it.

when you live in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere selection is low. ;_;

I'm hoping the ibooks store will become usable on OSX for the larger screen. Also, unbundled software like numbers at a low price that provide most of the most commonly used functionality of far more expensive programs have me interested.

For some reason where I currently am (colorado for the moment, I came here on the train!) I'm not being charged sales tax on anything I download from the app store or on ibooks. I know that'll change when I get back home (;_;), but it's kind of nice having had downloaded all these books and a few apps with no tax.
