yes, it is. At least half of it was an accident. But, once I had the look I wanted, I 'doctored' up the rest.

In the original, it looks to me like the red is on a separate layer. It was outlined in black and then erased to make a thin black border. Looks like some discrete use of the dodge tool, maybe. It is lovely, by the way.
Thank you! It was all done on one layer. There's definitely a process to achieving that look. The 'accident' part is when it happily begins to become what I like. I will try to revise the old drawing, to see if I can see what it is that I did. But, I'm thinking I'll only see one layer with a big mystery behind it....(later: yep, ver. 1 and 2 have separate layers, but the last thing I created on a single layer.
