Miss_DJ (Jun 3, 2010)
Thank you so much!! I like the way this one evolved!

Woah..gorgeous!

I am jealous, I wish I could do something like this
vlad.the.hamster (Jun 3, 2010)
Wow, this is breathtakingly destructive.
Teapot (Jun 3, 2010)
You're living the wrong life. You should be in a loft in Soho or The Village, unmarried, bisexual and prone to too much vodka and cigarettes. I've seen pictures of you and you don't look like the artist who came up with this. JK As usual, I love it.
firecracker (Jun 3, 2010)
I bet you could sell your artwork, and make some "bucks".....your style is amazing!! :)
Flubbles (Jun 3, 2010)
The trouble is you wouldn't be able to recreate this style on canvas.
Miss_DJ (Jun 3, 2010)
Thanks so very much for such nice comments..wow!
Teapot: I think living in Oregon, married, heterosexual, 21 yrs free from alcohol, drugs and cigarettes, I'm livin' the best life that I can! lol
Firecracker: My husband saw this and said, "This is yours?" "I have to get you some canvas"
Flubbles: I have more faith in me than you do...and besides, all of my drawings are one of a kind. I wouldn't want to recreate it..could you? Having said that, I think this is the first time you've 'dropped by' one of my drawings, so thanks for that.

I don't comment enough on your work Miss DJ. I like your style a lot and this one, so far, is my favourite. Unlike Flubbles, I believe this style could be done on canvas with various techniques, tools and a little imagination. Let me know when you get that canvas and I'll throw some ideas at ya.
Flubbles (Jun 3, 2010)
Was one of those ideas a coral sponge?
Miss_DJ (Jun 3, 2010)
Thank you, Jekyll! I'd be thrilled to hear your ideas!! What a wonderful thing to be able to do! I'd love to try!
Aakyra (Jun 3, 2010)
Simply gorgeous!!!

You did understand that that was my silly way of saying "Look folks! Turns out you don't have to be angst-filled and living a fringe existence in order to produce stunning abstract art." Right? I think you should transition to large canvases, too. And I also think your work would sell. I can picture it with lots of texture, multi-media...even some gold leaf maybe. You gotta let us know when you get your first gallery show.
Miss_DJ (Jun 4, 2010)
Wow Teapot..thanks! It would be wonderful to sell my art! Yes, I definitely understood what you were saying. I just thought I'd tell ya how it was. I think that more than anything else..it's my heart that dictates how the mouse moves on this canvas. ♥
pawillie (Jun 4, 2010)
if you want to try oils I recommend water mixable oils because it can be thinned and cleaned up with water, less toxic that way and if you can do it on-line you sure can paint on canvas

I often think that if everyone had the ability to do that, Miss D. J., then all the world's problems would be solved. Last weekend I had the most amazing opportunity to go to a gathering called "Painters at Painter's". Painter's Lodge is this fabulous old sea side fishing resort in Campbell River that was once frequented by people like John Wayne, Glenn Ford and other Hollywood stars back when the salmon fishing was incredible. Now, for 16 years they have hosted about 30 - 50 painters for a three day weekend of demonstrations and talks by the artists. It will not surprise you to learn that nearly all the artists I heard speak mentioned how the state of mind they achieve when they're creating is what they live for and how fulfilling it is. Many spoke of times in their lives when their art was the only thing that got them through some kind of difficulties, especially emotional upheaval or grief.

Here are some of my favourites from the show. It's too bad Suzanne Northcott doesn't have her abstract work on her website. You'd like it, I think.

thanks, teapot! I enjoyed looking at those very much. I can definitely relate to drawing during emotional upheaval or grief...that was about 2005-6 when I found 2draw..probably helped save my sanity...it definitely made it easier to cope having an artistic release. ♥
Bobstained (Jun 4, 2010)
Alan wylie is quite impressive.
Miss_DJ (Jun 4, 2010)
He sure is.
Suntan (Jun 4, 2010)
