Edit: Not sure if i will be sticking with the circle art nouveau. Any suggestions? Might go and move it also. Not sure if i like where it is positioned right now. The dark circle also has to go, but I have to skidaddle for now...

edit2: ...I can not draw perfect circles! D:

Looks very good, all those fitting pieces of color..is there a name for that? I love the minimalist feeling to this, if that's the right way to describe it. :)

Vector art?
jekyll (Mar 15, 2010)
I would agree , Flubbles. It might be described as Posterization. Photos can be manipulated this way in most photo programs. It's a method used in silk-screening also as a traditional painting technique.

Thanks everyone. I was going for vector, but had never heard of Posterization before. I can tell everyone I learned a new word today :)
Flubbles (Mar 15, 2010)
Or do what everybody else does when they learn a new word, pretend you've known about the word for years and use the word as frequently as possible in passing conversation.
Suntan (Mar 16, 2010)
ok, very cool. I've learned a few things from this then. Thanks :)

I cant get the arch as precise as I want it, so this is as far as this goes. I honestly think that is was nicer before the arch.

Regardless, I have enjoyed how the portrait has gone. Might do something similar again soon.
