I think I may actually keep the lineart for this one...I quite like how it's coming along.

This is going to be amazing, I'll start practicing patience now.
backmagicwoman (Feb 27, 2010)
LOL..I know..i'm awful...but what do you think about keeping the lineart?..should I?..or just go with the norm for me..?
lori (Feb 27, 2010)
yeah keep it bmw

firecracker (Feb 27, 2010)
Another cool "BMW" draw......I know it's gonna be fantastic!!! :)

you should have put her in that frou frou frilly dress
CookieMonster (Feb 28, 2010)
wow
Teapot (Feb 28, 2010)
Keep it on a separate layer until you've decided. That way you can go either way when you've finished with the coloring. I love the beautiful twist in the torso. The arm and neck/clavicle/shoulders look really good, too. (P.S if you don't know how to color underneath your line art: Set the line art layer to 'Multiply', then color on a layer beneath it.)
backmagicwoman (Feb 28, 2010)
Thanks for the comments everybody....I know how to do it Teapot...but I appreciate your help nontheless..when I first started oekaki, I always kept my lineart, it's just been a long time since I kept it....actually the first picture I ever did here was with lineart... http://2draw.net/view/90436/
TumblingUpwards (Feb 28, 2010)
I'd prefer it without, your work is fantastic without and has become your trademark but you need to do what is best for you, I'm just saying what I think now you need to do what you want...I don't think anything I just said will help you make up your mind :)
enjoydotcom (Feb 28, 2010)
You drew :D. I always love all the details you put in your drawings.
Suntan (edited Feb 28, 2010)
It'll be good either way..go go! :)
marcello (Feb 28, 2010)
teapot: layers have transparency by default, so there's no need to use multiply (plus it won't work if you want to do colored line art)
Teapot (Feb 28, 2010)
They don't have transparency if the artist used a white fill before they started drawing the lines, though.
backmagicwoman (Feb 28, 2010)
When I do it, I usuallu put my lineart on layer 2..go under with the color on layer 1, and then get the background in on layer 0...If I need more than that then I just add a layer..but usually three layers works very well for me..
TumblingUpwards (Feb 28, 2010)
No wonder I get lost in my drawings, I usually have 6-10 layers. I need to draw on here again to practice what you all preach.
Flubbles (Feb 28, 2010)
I do my drawings on one layer, unless i'm doing a collab.
Teapot (Feb 28, 2010)
Sometimes I'll do an experiment for some effect and use a separate layer so I don't screw up what I've done so far, but mostly I like to work on one layer, too. It's hard to make your work look integrated when you keep the layers separate. I've done production projects in Photoshop using 15 or 20 layers. I have to name them all of I'd go mad.

That's all I can take for one night...I need color suggestions for the hair.
Suntan (Mar 1, 2010)
Looks great,BMW, I was thinking complimentary color to the body, but I looked it up and orange is. What about green hair then?
backmagicwoman (Mar 1, 2010)
I actually considered green hair..I may go with that...thanks Suntan...
vlad.the.hamster (Mar 1, 2010)
I usually use one or two layers, maybe some more for effects... I know people that average a hundred layers per drawing (in photoshop) and once I did a collab and when I received the psd I was just like, holy shit how the hell do you keep track of all this?? And they were unnamed layers, too. x_x

Green hair would look nice, imo, though I can also see pink.
backmagicwoman (Mar 1, 2010)
The most layers I ever used was 6..I hate using photoshop, so I don't..lol....this picture here is all on one layer..
marcello (Mar 1, 2010)
teapot: there's no reason to use fill white on lascaux. there is an hidden white background layer on all drawings.

Saucy lip is a perfect description, I noticed that right away. The colors are wonderful...it came out great :D
enjoydotcom (Mar 2, 2010)
Is it me, or is it funny that someone is trying to tell the maker of a program how his own program works?
lori (Mar 2, 2010)
great art bmw
