To much detail in the reference to do a good job, it will take me to long.

Yeah, I looked at it and detail is crazy, but you've come this far already and it looks great. Why not finish the sleeve a bit more..it's deserving! :)
Flubbles (Feb 21, 2010)
I wont stop until i'm happy with it, i'll just try and capture the detail rather than try and copy it exactly.I've not even started the sleeve yet.
Suntan (Feb 21, 2010)
ok, ...I dont know whether i can be bothered to do this...just made me think you were tired of it and wanted to finish , not that you were giving up.
Flubbles (Feb 21, 2010)
I am getting bored but i cant leave things unfinished, it's annoying.I'll try and do it some justice by the time i'm finished.
madscientist (Feb 21, 2010)
Fantastic work! Very beautiful and detailed! Wish I could draw like you!
Miss_DJ (Feb 21, 2010)

It's gonna be a bit sloppy.
firecracker (Feb 21, 2010)
Wouldn't it be cool if people still dressed this way....especially men.....this style of fashion makes men look so "dashing"!!! Nice draw flubadub!!! :)
Flubbles (Feb 21, 2010)
drawn in 15 min
No because then it takes to long to draw what their wearing, next draw i'm gonna draw somebody wearing a tweed jacket so i can do a better job without having to spend ages drawing it.
Suntan (Feb 21, 2010)
Please put up the ref so we can see, Flub. It's beautiful..I know you have your own standards, but I don't see sloppy anything.
firecracker (Feb 21, 2010)
I don't see anything sloppy about it either.....I luv those fancy clothes.....I wonder how long it took for people to get dressed in those days.....all those fancy frills and lace and ruffles, etc..."lol"!! Awesome pic! :P

velly beautiful, great rendering,me like the vest, sleeve, the clothing is scintillating. You did good.Yah!Nowadays, finding real good clothing construction, and real tailoring,is horrible, because "fashion is dead"and on the skids.Ok,maybe it's too dressy for most situations, but have you SEEN WHAT WE ALL WEAR NOW??factory clothing.ugh.fashion has been killed, and any tailoring, construction, design,by global business corporations.sigh.Most couture is gone. But this picture is wonderful, good work.

Teapot (Feb 23, 2010)
Buncha little Chinese children went blind doing that silk embroidery and so will you, Flubbles, if you don't quit trying to draw impossibly detailed courtly attire. It's beeeooooteeful nonetheless. What a peacock. Do we get to know who this gorgeous fop is?
Flubbles (edited Feb 23, 2010)
It's not that difficult because i'm not really concentrating on getting the detail exactly right, just the overall look of it.It's a pretty famous painting called the laughing cavalier by dutch painter frans hals. When you look at the painting the eyes are meant to follow you around the room from every angle.

I don't know what more you can add to this pic.....it looks finished to me!! This guy must have been a very wealthy man to be able to afford the luxury of such fine, fancy clothing......:)
Bubblicious (Feb 26, 2010)
Sometimes, I really hate you. Other times... well, I don't really care, lol. Amazing drawing Flubbles.
Flubbles (Feb 26, 2010)
How could you hate me when i'm such a loveable young lad.
Bubblicious (Feb 26, 2010)
Yes, you are so lovable I just want to hug you and squeeze your guts out.
Flubbles (Feb 26, 2010)
Lets not get carried away.
backmagicwoman (Feb 26, 2010)
Yeyah!..cause Flubbles don't get down like that...lol
Bubblicious (Feb 26, 2010)
lol
Flubbles (Feb 26, 2010)
I dont go around hugging young girls, you can get arrested for that type of thing.
backmagicwoman (Feb 26, 2010)
What about old ladies with big globs of mustard on their heads?
Bubblicious (Feb 26, 2010)
Me hugging someone is basically an attack. :/ I can seriously hug someone, pick them up, and squeeze the life out of them if I wanted to. If they are really really really skinny, I can break a rib or two.
backmagicwoman (Feb 26, 2010)
Honestly, I don't really hug people...
TumblingUpwards (Feb 26, 2010)
I like to lick mustard off people, does that count?

We used to have a replica of this painting in our library growing up, scared the crap outta me when I was in there late at night. This does look a lot like it, you sure put a lot of time in your work, I don't know how you spare so much.
backmagicwoman (Feb 26, 2010)
Spicy brown, regular or honey?
firecracker (Feb 26, 2010)
"lolzzz".....I'm sure glad that I don't like mustard.....:P
TumblingUpwards (Feb 26, 2010)
Honey, you gotta have it slightly sweet.
