This is a strange study of me hooked up to my power chair(my feet are cripplied, due to age)and to Dragon typing program(arthritus)and to my computer(which is also me,inside.)I was doing a study for a picture of me,as a robot, cause I get hooked up to all this electronic stuff, like a robot.I've only been in a power chair for a couple years, due to very bad feet, although my legs, feet, ect.,all work,my feet got very bad, with age,& wear. So,I cannot walk on them(much.)And forget good medical treatments for feet, they do not do that on Medicare.Plus,I've got very bad fibromyalgia,in my arms, shoulders, ect. It's hard to see myself as a robot or android.

thanks for the comments; yeah, i know i'm not the only one fighting with disabilities;my friend has it much worse. i just decided to go to rehab, physical therapy, cause i was advised not to give up yet,but i was told it's going to hurt like hell, even if it gets better; my helper broke her neck and back, and took years to recover, and her right thumb took a long time to function again; so sometimes people can get better, but it's not easy.can you imagine, yer right thumb would not move?you too, with hands?good luck, too. hang in there! :)

my legs don't work so well either and niether do my hands, I am recovering from sugery on my hands so I have some idea of how you feel. sometimes it can be overwhelming
Suntan (Feb 3, 2010)
I would think overwhelming, to say the least, for both of you. Always enjoy your art dbeyes.

We discussed this at school a few months ago....found it interesting, you might as well. :)

I can say from experience that having chronic illnesses is no fun at all...because not only do you have to deal with said illness but with all the other problems that it can cause..I definitely know where you guys are coming from..it is overwhelming at times ..I agree.
firecracker (Feb 3, 2010)
Having a chronic illness must be very hard to live with......my heart goes out to you guys....but it doesn't seem to have hampered your ability to draw.......both of you are very talented, and I enjoy your artwork very much......:)

completely changed picture, uswing the mosaic tool thank you, lynn and charlie, here's a painting I just did, describing legs and feet going tyhru rehab, physical therapy;the motion is supposed to express the uneven painrful process(i should go back to cartoons, i'm depressing myself!)http://www.rydia.net/oekaki/picture.cgi?board=default
but i never thought expressing motion would be so wierd.

while I could still work I supervised nurses who took care of patients in their homes and some of them were totally paralyzed and were on a ventilator but they were still active, 3 going to school at a major university, another one was still active with his music and even though he can not talk he still composes and recently put out another cd and another one went ahead and had a baby and with help is doing a great job raising him. so I must stop feeling sorry for myself and must kick myself in the behind and must try to do as much as I can. as dbeyes has made adjusrments and is keeping as active as she can. It is great that she can express her feelings with her art and can share what she is going through
