I have this sculpture project here at home that I must finnish for art and It has to look like a person.
Now I am pretty familiar with drawing people and their proportions, but i SUCK at sculpting them. And knowing I can look up to everybody (AMAZING ARTISTS :3) here, And some of you are quite familiar with making people sculptures and 3D art, I am asking for tips and stuff! Thank you so much, this is a great community regardless of my horrible behavior. I apologize and would reeeeaally love ANY feedback from SOMEBODY. Thank you for your time! |

hi N, you're talking clay, i presume? i believe you simply remove all the bits that dont look like a person. if you go too far, stick some bits that look like a person on ^v^ btw i SUCK at giving advice

First thing you need to do is build yourself an armature...i would suggest a hard wire from the craft store..just wrap it around itself to make it resemble the human form...it will look like a stick figure when done properly...then you start adding your cly to it in layers until you get the widths and shapes you want..if it's baking clay I would suggest super sculpey it's very pliable..and you can bake it with the wire in it ..the great thing about human anatomy is that although we almost all share two arms two legs a head feet and hands...every person is different in size and shape..so you really can't go wrong...if this is your first one it may be tough going but if you find you like it I would urge you to keep practicing..and it will start to come to you more naturally..hope that helps..:)

I recommend viewing John Brown's sculpting videos from Gnomon workshop. I have seen it available on Pirate bay if you want to check it out before you buy it. His work inspired me to do a few sculpts myself.

Kinda neat that the model in the comic book style page, is the one I've had in a few of my life drawing classes.

So i got this statue from Canada some time back..it's Supergirl..but her breasts are showing and so is her hiney..well I didn't have the correct sized bits for my dremel to finish her for painting...well I just got the smaller bits today and my husband comes in and says.."now that you got the tiny bits you can carve a hole inbetween her butt cheeks and paint a brown ring around it and name it..Sexy Supergirl takes a crap"...
