I can't decide if this gives me a "fall feeling" or a "summertime picnic" feel but which ever it is, it's very yummy and Sunny!! =)
Aakyra (Dec 22, 2009)
Beautiful work!
kupocoffee (Dec 22, 2009)
wonderful! the shading of the apples really caught my eye.
Miss_DJ (Dec 22, 2009)
very nice, Suntan!!
QTgillie (Dec 22, 2009)
i love the painterly technique you used here....different for you, love this. sunny.
Suntan (Dec 22, 2009)
Thanks! Hmmm, it's in a different light now..I drew it earlier with poor lighting. I see some things that need help...especially since it's my first intermediate! =O

ugh damn, now i left out the reflection of the spoon :\
davincipoppalag (Dec 22, 2009)
they look delicious well done
Flubbles (edited Dec 22, 2009)
I like the apples alot and the reflection in the colander...but the perspective is terrible.
Suntan (Dec 22, 2009)
Thanks, Dave.

Flubbles: where is it terrible...or at least the most terrible.
Flubbles (Dec 22, 2009)
The table cloth pattern implies your'e looking at the drawing from a birds eye view, so therefore you wouldnt be able to see the base of the colander.
Suntan (Dec 22, 2009)
It is a bird's eye view but not directly over. Even if I were standing on the close side of the table looking down, I still wouldn't be able to see it a little bit?
Flubbles (Dec 22, 2009)
The angle of the cloth still throws it off.

ok, once you start trying to fix something then everything is wrong. I see it now, even the colander is wrong.. but I don't know how to fix it..so it is what it is. blah
Flubbles (Dec 22, 2009)
You shouldn't get so down heartened about things, atleast you keep trying to improve.
Suntan (Dec 22, 2009)
If I were downhearted about it, it would be gone. I'm leaving it to remember. That's wayyy different for me. Thanks for the feedback.
Suntan (edited Dec 23, 2009)
tscott: Hmmm, what's behind all this?....firstly, yes, I do want to improve, thank you for thinking it looks good but I am ok, with the input from him. I know it seems like picking holes because that is, unfortunately, the way you two go back and forth. I can tell him his copper vase looks, to me, like it is floating and that will be ok, too. To him it must not. He said my perspective was terrible..I know he has said that to you, too...but I took no offense to it and asked him to explain, which you must have seen. It wasn't a big deal other than I got frustrated because I can't fix it..but I didn't delete it either. Secondly and thirdly must be in there but I left them out...so last, I don't think in terms of being beneath someone. Yes, many are more skilled than I, so, that's the way it goes.
I'm not real sure where you are coming from...I think..there was a compliment in your comment....but since I rarely talk to you and haven't in like two years, it makes me wonder why you wrote this and if you used it as your platform for a hidden message to "them". What do you say about that?

*EDIT: I see you deleted your comment, I don't get an answer..or did I? Too bad...I looked at it as a chance to clear some air.*
firecracker (Dec 24, 2009)
Very nice draw......I like it.....:)
Suntan (Dec 26, 2009)
Thanks! :)
cyclops (Dec 26, 2009)
typical tony, deleting his/her comments, btw nice apples, im an apple enthusiast, but ill have to agree with flubbles, the tablecloth is ugly ;] do you use your own ref pics or do you use internet freebees?
Suntan (Dec 26, 2009)
haha..I KNOW it's awful, for pete's sake..must we go on and on about how ugly it is? lol, i guess soooo, yup!! ;P
it is, but I don't know how to fix it so it's here as a fond reminder of fugly. ;D
neither of those..my ref was a torn out pic from a book at school. I have an envelope full of torn out pics that I want to start trying. The pair of pears was one, too, but I think I forgot to write that...which I will do.
enjoydotcom (Dec 26, 2009)
Sweetheart, I love it. At least you take a chance!
Suntan (Dec 27, 2009)
haha..why thank you, honey bunches!
QTgillie (Dec 27, 2009)
And wouldn't it be a loss to the world of art if such artists as Picasso and Dali just to name a couple, always drew picture perfect realism. Keep experimenting Sunny, that is how we all grow!!
Suntan (Dec 27, 2009)
yeah, thanks..I'll keep plugging along. This is all cc in good spirit. I like that. :)
