ok! I see the bottom right hand corner needs some tweeking and the pebbles, I think, need some shadow...but I didn't want to mess with the layers. They look like they are floating or something...Oh, and the little white pebble on the left resting on the larger rock, looks odd. What do you think.? I don't like that one lol
I meant to get rid of that little white one when I last worked on it. The shadows are actually easy and fun to do. I'll finish the detail on the BG and then we can work on shadows.
do we need to dodge anything? hit it with a little if you think so, I might have too much of a heavy hand with it. ;p how did I do on the pebble shadows, look ok?
The shadows look good. Maybe just an intense thin line on the leading edge of the more prominent pebbles. You can dodge the pebbles if you like. The opacity and flow can be adjusted for some interesting effects. Have fun! It's your piece too!
leading edge of the more prominent pebbles?...sorry, that's new to me...do you mean leading edge of the shadow?..thanks for being so patient with me!! heh!
I knew what I said didn't make any sense. I just got home from work and my granddaughter was bouncing all over me, playing with my mouse and pressing buttons on my tablet. What I meant was to outline the area where the pebble meets the shadow and to just do the ones with exposed edges......I think that's what I meant.
I think I'm finished. It's the best I can do, any more fiddling around and I will mess it up for sure. last check for you, and I say send it on if you're ready to. :)
This is lookin' great so far.......it reminds me of the artist known as "Starzshine"......I remember a draw that she did at "floatingginkgo".....it was sorta similar to this draw.....it was of pebbles and stones and seashells.....I think it won the "floatingginkgo award". I wonder whatever became of her....she's an awesome artist. Anyways.....I think this draw is looking great, and I'm sure that it will be totally awesome when you guys finish it.......:)
I'm amazed at the perspective that y'all drew this in...gives me the feeling that I'm standing directly over these rocks and even almost looking between my feet to see the rocks at the bottom of the canvas! I see a nose in the sandstone along with a classic-Sunny-swirl (???) I once made pepples that looked much like these out of rolled fondant for a cake I made that looked like a 2 tiered deck once =) The cake took 1st place in a Father's Day cake competition =) GREAT job y'all!!!!
Thanks! All the credit goes to Jekyll..he was very patient with me, as you can imagine, this being my first one. It took me 6 months to get back to those pebbles and it was fun. I enjoyed it. Thanks for the kind comments, everyone, except for bob who is an idiot.
Ouch, Bob....she forgot.... Haha! But really, this picture is all about the cluster of stones and Suntan did 95 percent of them. She expressed an interest in trying realism and I think she pulled it off rather well. Suntan is well known for her speedy compositions so it was a kick to see her slow down a bit for this one. I'm very glad to have had a chance to work with her! Thank you for your comments, everybody, and Bob, you'll get over it....
When my dad was alive he used to work on a quarry, and he used to always bring me back cool looking stones for my rockery I had out in the back garden. This reminds me of the rockery I once cared for.
Yes, thank you, Bette! I just don't feel like I did all that much to this one. The timer says I spent 6 hours on this but most of that time was spent experimenting as I'm not all that familiar with Lascaux. I also tend to wander from my computer.....I wander a lot
haha, yea shingle, not for shale.. thank you for the inovite, flub, I think urtite, too..but aren't you a stoner? ;p You guys rock..thanks for the fun ;)
