nicely done with the texture effect..see i told you it would save you tons of time..you should've made a layer on top with a solid sand color and lower the transparency then merge them.. you have the turtles on a separate layer?..maybe get the solid color in between.

yes thanks for the tip. and yes they are on separate layer. i had to draw where the baby turtles were going to be before adding the color to the sand.

With Chibi, you can put it on scatter, I guess that is how she did it.
