thanks everyone, the angle of his head made this one very difficult for me, I should learn to draw before I start in. Sometimes I do. This one I had finished and THEN noticed he looked askew and redid most of his face to get that angle, it still is not quite right.

The face looks fine now, QT! I think his left eye is what is throwing the perspective. It could be moved down a bit and nudged a little closer to the nose ( you can do that with Chibipaint!). But you've certainly nailed his looks when he was that age! Nice work!!

thanks so much everyone. jekyll....i brought up the ref again, cause I thought you were right on, but the ref actually does have the eyes that far apart....I may try your suggestion anyway to see if it does anything. Thanks for the gentle CC.....kindness goes a long way!
