I can start on the background if you want? and then we can help each other out on everything else! I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

I clicked on the drawing earlier to revise it and there were load's of funny white pixel's over the drawing , i pressed undo 20 times and they went! but then when i clicked on the drawing to revise it again they were there again. So i blended them in roughly with the water tool, and sent the drawing! then when ive pressed draw this time they have gone so the problem's solved. So now we can get back to drawing without any mishap's i hope.

vlad.the.hamster (Aug 6, 2009)
It's STILL not finished? haha.
just keeeding. But it's already so absolutely astonishing that I'm kinda half hoping no one ever does a collaboration on this board ever again just to keep it on top. haha.
Flubbles (Aug 6, 2009)
It's nearly finished ive just gotta do one last revision for about 10 minute's or so, i could spend longer on it but you have to draw the line at some point.Im not sure it's as good as your making out, but i guess im my own worst critic. It's the longest ive ever spent on one drawing and i only did half of the work :p
darkerthan (Aug 6, 2009)
Honestly, i'm dumbfounded by how amazing it is.
montezmaria (Aug 6, 2009)
My gosh, this looks so real it is amazing. You two really have outdone yourselves. Stunning job on this.

the etail and realism in this is beyond impressive. I'm amazed :D

vlad.the.hamster (Aug 19, 2009)
I've decided... this can't possibly be a photograph. It's far too perfect to be a photo. ;)
firecracker (Aug 20, 2009)
This car is magnificent.....I really think it should be "showcased".....:)
Flubbles (edited Aug 20, 2009)
Im not blowing my own trumpet but i've drew a few things before i thought had a chance of getting showcased and they never.... so i pretty much doubt this will get showcased or anything else i ever do will either.
Axil62 (Aug 20, 2009)
The showcase is a popularity thing, not a skill thing.
SaiWataki (Aug 20, 2009)
haha, my mom thought it was a photo xD
Such detail and finish, amazing! Just wonderful!
Flubbles (Aug 20, 2009)
Is your mom hot? can i have her msn addy please, just kidding.
jekyll (Aug 20, 2009)
As this was my first collab ever, I'm quite happy with the way it turned out and I'm glad to have had the chance to work with Flubbles. He'll not likely work with me again for saying this, but, he is actually a very gracious partner to work with and he takes his artistic abilities very seriously. He does have pieces that absolutely belong in the showcase! (you can have your trumpet back now, Flubbles)
Thank you all for your comments!! It was a lot of fun doing this one!
firecracker (Aug 20, 2009)
I'm wondering who chooses the draws that get "showcased"?? I too have seen several draws that I thought would be "showcased", but they weren't. I know that on another website that I used to draw on.....they had it where anyone could draw a pic.....then all of the other artists who draw there would be allowed to "vote" for their favorite pic. Then after all the votes were in and counted......the winner's pic would get like an award, and be "showcased" for a certain period of time. I think they did this type of thing about once a month. But....anyways......it was nice that the people who draw there were allowed to "vote" on their favorite draw. I know that this beautiful car draw would surely get my "vote".....if voting were allowed here. :)
marcello (Aug 20, 2009)
that's a little too socialist for my tastes.
Flubbles (edited Aug 20, 2009)
I'd definitely like to work with you again jekyll.I tend to try harder when i do collabs in fear of letting the other person down, so it gives me more of a motive to try my best, i work best under pressure.I was inspired by jekylls first two draws he did at the site, i really was'nt that motivated to draw anything until then , so thats why i asked him to do a collab with me.
firecracker (Aug 20, 2009)
Hi Marcello.....I'm just really curious to know......what does it take for a draw to be showcased? This car draw here.....seems to be so perfect in every little detail.....I can't imagine why it wouldn't classify to be showcased.
marcello (Aug 20, 2009)
it takes bribes.
firecracker (Aug 21, 2009)
LOL!!!! :)
Lideeh (Aug 26, 2009)
:O unbelievable details... btw Flubbles I love you!!!
Flubbles (Aug 26, 2009)
How could you possibly love me? we've only just had the pleasure of meeting...i was gonna add baby on the end but if i check your profile and your only 12 years old i'll die.
Lideeh (Aug 26, 2009)
I love your art :). We had spoke once in DA..few words only hehe
I'm 20!

NEEDS SHOWCASE RIGHT NOW.

This is fantastic. Everything from the shine to the reflections is just perfect. Also, I'm loving the little 2draw plate.
enjoydotcom (Sep 18, 2009)
Too bad the animation goes terrrribly slow, I really wanted to know how in earth you two did this.
Flubbles (Sep 18, 2009)
Mostly everything i draw i figure it out as i go along, not everything turns out great but sometimes it does.I thought i'd be really excited getting showcased, but its took so long in coming its kind of fizzled out, im still relativley pleased though.
enjoydotcom (Sep 18, 2009)
Well, what'a'ya know... I would have hoped it would give you more pleasure.
Flubbles (Sep 18, 2009)
Ive always been one of those people who gets more satisfaction from other people i knows enjoyment rather than my own.Do you know when your really hungry and your starving, theres a point where you've waited so long to eat your not hungry anymore. Thats kind of how i feel about getting showcased.I'll probobly be more pleased about it another day.
enjoydotcom (Sep 18, 2009)
I know that waiting to eat until you're not hungry any more all too well. Let's give it a day or two, you'll get hungry again.
firecracker (Sep 18, 2009)
I'm so glad to see that this draw finally got "showcased"......Congratulations Flubadub and Jekyll.......you guys did an amazing job with this draw! :)
marcello (Sep 19, 2009)
I wouldn't have showcased this myself. The main point of the showcase is to showcase the unique and interesting stuff people tend to miss.

But hey, there's always the people who say "wow, that was drawn on a computer?" ... as if digital painting were harder than real painting (it's not).
Suntan (Sep 19, 2009)
It is one worth seeing the work and the result, over and over. At least now it will not be missed. Congrats on your showcase and an amazing piece. I'm happy for ya. :)
Roytje (Sep 19, 2009)
It isn't harder indeed, Marcello. But try to make such a painting with real paint.
Axil62 (Sep 19, 2009)
airbrush is real paint.
enjoydotcom (Sep 19, 2009)
What I like so much about this drawing (and the ones like this) is that it can make people doubt if it is a drawing or a photo.
Roytje (edited Sep 19, 2009)
Yeah, I know. But you still have to be very skilled to create this kind of realism with airbrush.
Axil62 (Sep 19, 2009)
If it were a photo, I wouldn't give it a second thought. Looking at this and knowing it was drawn is attractive. It makes me wish I could touch it to feel the smooth curving surfaces.
Flubbles (Sep 19, 2009)
Surely everything that is drawn is unique because its different from how somebody else would perceive it.Dont you think its a skill to try and replicate something to look real? its just down to personal taste really.
jekyll (edited Sep 19, 2009)
As one who remembers a time when the most fun you could have on a computer was playing Space Invaders, I would be the last one to say digital drawing was anything like real painting. The only similarity really, is the end result. At least from a visual aspect. Realism is seen by some as lacking imagination and though the work may seem unimaginative, I think one should look at what made the artists want to do it in the first place. I wasn't as interested in the car itself as I was in the way it reflected the world around it. I'm sure Flubbles felt the same way. I do know that if I ever come up with something really original, I'll keep it off the Internet and put it on canvas first. I have a feeling that the work we're doing now will likely go the way of Space Invaders! Thank you all again for your support, and I am very happy this made it to the showcase!
Bobstained (Oct 2, 2009)
You never know one day people may have digital canveses and they could download peoples art from the internet...remember you heard it from me first.
backmagicwoman (Oct 2, 2009)
On america's next top model they display the winning models picture as digital art every week... I'd love to have that feature in my home...
Aubrey (Oct 3, 2009)
Great art is great medicine what with this alligator-leopard-pigeon-rhinosaurus-zebra flu. Amazing placeibo. You should bottle this up, you'd make a fortune and I'm sure Prescott Pharmaceuticals would jump right on it!
RideTheWashingMachine (Oct 22, 2009)
I love it it's amazing! Good job with the relfections and stuff that is not easy to paint..lol trust me...i tired drawing a pool one time..it came out good but...it's very hard to do reflections.
Moosh (Oct 25, 2009)
That is tiiiiight.
montezmaria (Oct 25, 2009)
This car just blows me away. The two of you are so very talented. I've really enjoyed this drawing, pc of art. The reflections and shine to it are amazing!!!

Had I seen this when it was first posted, I would have commented then...haven't been here much in the past couple of years, but I like to come and browse occasionally, even though I haven't been able to paint much lately. I personally am thankful for the "Showcase" because of moments like this...had this not been there, I'd probably never have seen it, and it is absolutely MAGNIFICENTLY done. I know how much work this was....you should be very proud of it. In the future, try to remember that regardless of whether or not your work is praised or given the recognition it deserves, you can still enjoy that wonderful feeling you get when you set out to do something very difficult, worked hard and completed it to your own satisfaction. I own a 56 Chevy Bel Air that I'm in love with, have a great appreciation for classic cars and great art, but I'm not good at this type of art so I love viewing something like this. That's really what this is all about, anyway, I think, even better than the personal satisfaction is that you're sharing your talent and giving pleasure to others. Thanks!!!!
dorothyblueeyes (Apr 10, 2011)
Wonderful! Yes, this is a fabulous, real CAR!!!NOT like those "things" people drive now. sigh, for the good old days, when this had plenty of gas in it's little tanky, and it did not cost much!! (

Firecracker, where is that website you're talking about? Like to find other oekaki and drawing/painting, websites, for sure, I get bored easily, and like to try other places. So far" oekakis" googled, does not turn up too much now. Of course, there is always "Oekaki Central",but those mods are really bitches! If you just talk back once, you are BANNED FOREVER. Sojme people are scared to death to go on there, and draw, ha.

But, yes, I'd like to go on a site, and vote for who is the best, once in a while. Tjhat would be fun. different. (You can go on "4 chan.org(or net?com?)" and they have tons of different boards, and Oekaki for sure, but it's riddled with PORN. HA.
