Hi "MissDj", and "DMV".....Thank you both very much for your nice comments.....I really appreciate it. Yeah.....I can see where the falls look kinda "silky".....like silk scarves.......I'm not sure which textures make it look that way......is it the "sparkly" ones....or the "line" textures???? Well.....I did do a little bit more work on this "pic".....I'm not gonna try to get rid of the textures.....I like that sparkly look. The lights shining on the Falls gives it that sparkly, silky look...."lol"! Anyways.....I'm happy with the way it looks now.....if anyone has any suggestions that would help me to make this pic look better.....Id be happy to hear from you. I appreciate all comments and criticism.....that's the only way to learn what you're doing wrong. "Thanks" again "MissDj", and "DMV"....for commenting. I appreciate it. :)
Hi "DMV".....I checked out that link.....and noooo.....that pic in your link is not the "ref" pic that I used for this draw. The "ref" pic that I used was in an email that I had received from "Babs". She sent me an email with a link from "stumble.com".....and there were a whole group of beautiful photographs of "night scenes". There were two different photos of "Niagara Falls". I told "Babs" that the photos were beautiful, and that I would like to try drawing a couple. She said that they would be worth drawing. So.....I drew this "pic" of Niagara Falls", and I also drew the other "pic" of "Niagara Falls'....it's in my "gallery. I thought it would be a challenge to try drawing a picture from a photograph.....and I think I did a "fairly" good job with drawing these two pics of Niagara Falls. Anyways.....I know they're far from perfect.....but I have a lot to learn.....and the only way to learn is to "keep on practicing"!!! :) By the way....I want to say: "THANKS" "Babs"......for sending me those beautiful photos!!!! :)
I't looks scale-ly to me. o.o But I like it any way, the colors are really pretty. It reminds me of Mario Kart Doubledash, the one race that's up in the stars.
Hi "DaVinci", and "Bubbles", and "GG"......Thank you all very much for your nice commments.....I really do appreciate it. " "Lol Bubbles".....Who is Mario Kart Doubledash???" I'm glad you guys like the "pic".....I know it's not perfect.....but I did the best I could.....I need more practice. I know the water looks like silk.....but I didn't know how to make the water look "wet".....so I made it "silky" instead...."lol"!! I like my version of this pic better than the actual "ref" pic......the water in the "ref" pic doesn't look wet either......it sorta looks like cotton candy. Anyways....I'm happy with this "pic", and I'm glad that you all like it, and took the time to comment. I'm always "up for suggestions and comments".....that's the only way I'll leaern to improve. :)
Thanks for the "link" "Bubbles"......I didn't know it was a nintendo game. It looks like it would be a fun game to play. I never had a video game.......but lately I've been thinking it might be fun to get one. :)
So pretty..my fav parts are the colors, of course, the light silhouette grasses and the misty fog on top of the water caused by the falls...I'd love to see the falls in person one day!
Thanks "Carmine" and "Elly", for your nice comments......I really do appreciate it. I've never actually been to see "Niagara Falls" either. I hope to go there someday too. :)
I saw Niagara Falls when I was 7 years old. Our parents took us there on vacation. We boarded a boat called "Maid of the Mist" which is still in use today for tours of the Falls. We had to put on black or yellow raincoats because otherwise you'd get soaked from the mist of the Falls alone. I still remember the nice smell of the water and the mist as it hit my little girl face. A nice memory.
Although they may use colored lights now to show off the Falls. I think they were much more beautiful just lit up with white spotlights as I remember them. They were naturally beautiful in that way, without needing to be 'gussied up.'
But, I do like your pic, Firecracker, pretty blend of colors!
Hi "MissDj".......Thanks very much for your nice comment.....I really do appreciate it. I liked the "link" you provided also. The "Maid of the Mist" sounds like an exciting and interesting way to see the "Falls". It's a beautiful boat......you were lucky to have been able to enjoy it. My sister saw the Falls once, a long time ago.....she really enjoyed it. "Thanks again" for commenting.....I appreciate it. :)
Hi "xsi639".......I just noticed that you left a comment on this draw.....thank you very much.....I really appreciate it. I'm glad you like the "pic". :)
Peak numbers of visitors occur in the summertime, when Niagara Falls are both a daytime and evening attraction. The oldest and best known tourist attraction at Niagara Falls is the Maid of the Mist boat cruise. Along with letting you take glimpses of its astonishing beauty, the premises also will leave no stone unturned to enlighten you about the Niagara’s ancient culture. The spot contains ample of museums including the Native American Museum of Art, the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, and the Castellani Art Museum. http://www.travelamerica.com
