I did work on this draw some more.....I'm still not finished with it yet.....I got rid of another pirate....too many pirates aboard this ship..."lol"! stunning. I still like your texturing in spots but a little too consistant when you do it.....I think EVERYTHING ELSE IS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. I think the texturing is just my personal taste tho. You have put so much incredible work on this.....you have the patience of an............I can't even think of the words to describe it Firecracker......bravo on this one.....I have been out of town so have not been able to comment much. Hi "BMW", and "Gillie".......thank you both very much for your nice comments....I really do appreciate it. I'm glad you guys like the "pic". This was the most frustrating draw I ever did.....I just couldn't get satisfied with it....that's what took me so long to do this......I kept adding things....then I would delete them....I got rid of 3 pirates on the ship.....there were too many pirates, and they didn't look right. There were just all kinds of things that were bugging me about this draw.....but at last.....I think I like it....but I still want to try doing a little more work on it, before I post it "as finished". "Gillie"......yes....I definitely agree with you about my "overusing" the texture tool. That's a habit that is so hard for me to break.....because once I start using that tool....I just can't stop!! "lol".....it's a terrible habit......but I love the way things look when they are texturized, I really am going to make an effort to not texturize everything in the picture....it's really not a good thing to do......it actually detracts from the pic. Thanks for pointing that out.....because I really need to work on that. I am so glad that you like the picture! "Bmw"......there will be "no partying" on this pirate ship......you guys "sunk" my other ship, with all that "partying"......I don't want this ship "going down" too! "LOL"!! This is terrific, Firecracker! I would agree with Qt. The texture goes a little 'overboard'...pun intended...for example, look to where the men are in the boat, then follow that same area and look down at the water. There's texture in the water that shouldn't be there.
Also, since the boat looks so great, I would suggest taking a bit more time on the water and background to really pull it all together for an advanced drawing.

Yes.....I agree with you and Gillie about the way I tend to overuse the texture tools. I just go crazy with it sometimes. I see that spot of water you mentioned that shouldn't have been texturized....I don't know why I did that...."lol"! I'm gonna fix that. Also....you're right about the water and background....I should spend more time working on that, That's why I have'nt posted this draw as "finished" yet.....because I need to work on it more. I think the whole picture would've looked better if I knew how to use the "layers". I could've put the ship on a separate layer from the background and water. I've never used the layers, because I don't know how they work. Starzshine has tried explaining to me how to use the layers.....but I still get all confused when I try using them. I haven't seen her around lately....she must be very busy. "Thanks" again Donna.....for your comments and "CC". I really do appreciate it. I'm really glad you like this pic. I love it, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaze finish, I rarely work with layers but I know how they work if you want some info on that :)

FC....the layers are really quite easy once you get used to them. I usually do the background on the first layer. Then, if I want to, I draw the objects on the second layer. Then I create a third layer and put the colours of the objects. Then if there are objects even closer to the forground, I put those on the third layer and so on. If you wish you can even add a layer and put shading on top of parts of the pic that you think needs it and then it is easy to erase if you don't like it without ruining the layers underneath. Just try some experimenting....you will like them!!

"Carmine and "Gillie".......any advice on how to use layers is appreciated......I'm going to try to experiment with using them on my next draw. It's too late to use them with this draw. "Gillie"....you make it sound so easy to use the layers.....I wonder why I have so much trouble when I try using them. I tried using layers at "Floatingginkgo" (Starzshine tried explaining it to me)......she explained it very well, but it wouldn't work for me. I don't understand why it doesn't work for me, but it works for everyone else..."lol"! I think I'm "jinxed"!! Anyways.....I'm gonna start to experiment with them, and see what happens.
