QTgillie: Thanks. I wasn't going for realism, I was more going for "painterly" or illustrative. I should have concentrated more on stroke and color placement. I used a black and white ref so I could come up with the skin tones myself, usually that helps the figure have that painterly appearance.
Its awesome, i think it is more illustrative rather than being overly realistic.I think the skin tones are so well done it just adds a slight realism touch to it.The hands are great, those pointy fingers cant have been the easiest thing for you to do so well.
Good lord, man! This is insane!
Even though everyone's already said it, the hands are amazing. The arms, too. Everything you draw is so incredible that it makes my brain hurt.
Sorry if I miss-spoke concerning realism clox. but.....to me this is very realistic in comparison to your blocked abstract faces that you do so well and so often. painterly (in my feeble mind) has always meant more of a style or technique and can still portray a realistic image. symantics put aside this is an outstanding image....the hands and arms are so well drawn!!
logged in just to comment.. nice one Klox. The foreshortening, colouring on that arm, even the background.. incredible.
