What did happen with the 2draw art-book?

Get this book printed and ready for selling! I commanded my boss [at least] two months ago to order some of these books to sell in our [mediocre art] store. He said "okay." Make it available so I can support this site without paying outta my own wallet! If you wait to long with releasing this book he'll forget. and that's [at least] ten sales down the drain for you. DO IT! Please. I'd like a 2draw book.

No.. it's a book of drawings by members.

Book status: We finished the original printing for Fanime back in May, but decided to fix lots of little things in the book before we released it online.

The bad news is that we had a bit of delay thanks to life being busy and whatnot.

The good news is that we finally had a chance to get it done this week and have sent it off to the printer for a proof.

If everything goes according to plan, we'll be ready to start selling in a couple weeks!

p.s. the new cover looks great and the whole book looks amazing. not only I think it'll be worth the wait, but also a good indicator of what future book projects will be like. :-) We had a lot of fun working on this side project and look forward to doing it again if the first one is well received.

We'll have two versions, a paperback and a hardcover. Prices have not been finalized yet, but will not be higher than $25 for paperback and $45 for hardcover. We will likely do a limited time introductory pricing.

The book is 7x7" in size with 80 pages of 179 images (15 collaborations) by 75 different artists altogether.

Did everybody who got nominated grant permission?

I dont think so.. I think quite a few didnt.. I'm sure lots of stacy's were nominated but she put those stupid smiley face things on most of hers.

I don't think it's a problem to use the versions before.

I felt so flattered I was nominated, and thought it was such a cool idea seeing a drawing of your own in a book. Couldn't help but grant permission :D.

Yea.. me too.. dunno if any actually got used..but a couple got nominated anyway..

enjoy: most people granted permission, at least for the first publication. unfortunately we were not able to include work from everyone who was nominated, but we tried to include a good balance of work.

neat yay artbooks, cant wait till they come out actually. i plan on buying one and telling everyone i know/am related to to buy one as well. i don't 'hang out' here as much anymore but i still love the site and i love marcello too!

pink smiley's..not because i didnt want my work published knowing full well a previous version could be used if the powers that be wanted to. i dont even really remember why i did them. shrug. some of my pictures were nominated, i didnt reply to the email or memo as i was busy moving across the country at the time. i understand that if you DIDNT respond it was as good as giving permission, or so the memo said so maybe something of mine got published, maybe they didnt. i still plan on buying a copy.

Update: we got the proof print in today, but there are some problems with it (they cut off way too much on the edges), so we'll have to do another test print. Will keep you posted.

I tell you what would be cool , to have a video of the animations aswell.It probobly wouldnt work though because alot of people use lascaux sketch instead of oekaki shi painter.
