trying to do an angel without a ref .. but I'm having a terrible time with just about everything .. especially wings ..and the clock keeps ticking wahhhh :(

On the wings, if you don't mind, wings (if people actually gre them) would most likely be attached to the scapula, or shoulder blade. In your drawing so far, the wings appear to be connected to each other at about the middle of the back. So I would say separate them. The other thing about the wings is that you have what would be the leading edge of the wing looking like the trailing edge of a wing. The edge you have with the large feathers depicted would be smooth (like you have in V.3). The feathered edge would be pretty much behind her and out of sight from this angle.

thanks axil for the help, I appreciate it ..what you said makes perfect sense so I'll keep playing with it and I'll take your advice .. but that timer makes me nervous sometimes especially when I know I'm taking way too long for a small pic.

I cant understand why it bothers you. Is it because you dont have time to draw, or is it because you want to speed-paint?
If the later is true, I think you should try your best, as far as your patience goes. It takes time to get something decent. (you see for yourself how your pic improved from ver.1)
Quality, and not speed should be the factor. (Plus, if you scan the board, youll see that 12mins pics look bad, and dont get much appreciation). good luck :)
