I was talking to Marcello about this. What would people think of having drawing boxes for comments like Tegaki has? It could be truly epic, or have a huge potential for spam. I'd still love it.

We also discussed options of other users being able to do 'artwork edit critiques'. The original artist enables an option to let users critique their work this way, then users would be able to edit the final piece to highlight anatomical issues, coloring problems, whatever it may be. Sounded like a cool idea too.

Anything else people have in mind to customize the forum and drawing board interface?

I thought this was the purpose of the comment box? How about a 'thumbnail highlight' feature akin to what flickr has; select a portion of the picture and make comments on it?

As for the drawing boxes, it sounds like a good idea. The only problem I find with it would be people abusing it, like you said.

the actual comments on pictures should stay how they are;

but if the the forums are gonna have drawing boxes? TOO GOOD.
maybe they could be a bit taller than tegaki comment boxes though.
