Dan, these look great! They look like there fresh from the produce stand. Makes me hungry for tomatos stuffed with tuna salad. yum.I love to eat tomatos like i like to eat apples with a little salt.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 21, 2004)
I just had to come back and look at these again. May I please purchase a large oil on canvas of this to hang in my kitchen? I just ate twenty cherry tomatoes for supper. I couldn't hold anything else after that.
shell (Mar 1, 2011)

This one came from an idea I had about drawing a picture of a cartoon cow saying
"Remember gang, Morty the cow says "Don't whack off."

Not really my most absolute favorite, but okay.
davincipoppalag (Jun 12, 2004)
I found the comments read better on this one set to music. I thought about it for awhile, and chose Tchaikowski..The Nutcracker.. it seemed appropriate with all the talk of castration and such
thug (Jun 12, 2004)
Damn, now I don't feel like wacking off. :(

I don't know if you can tell, but what I did here was, I added a cigarette butt.
xwindflyer (Jun 11, 2004)
The ole stinky ciggybutt is a nice touch. Good job Axil.
Zack (Jun 11, 2004)
That butt looks so real. Damn.
shell (Mar 1, 2011)

i'm not exactly sure why it works, i think it was something like, your mind works like a camera, so when you look at it and your eye shifts its vision to (or just focuses on) another portion of the image, your mind tries to smoothly transition from the image of 'your first glance' and the image of 'your second glance'. thus, the image moves to the side, but the circular arrangement of the dots makes them appear to rotate, rather than merely shift.
but, like i said, i'm not really sure :l
Roytje (edited Sep 13, 2009)
Not cool for my eyes.
shell (Mar 1, 2011)

This is, of course, great, but I actually liked the potty training one better. Who says artists can't have a sense of humor?

The Dodge and Burn tools are foreign to me. But then again so is Lascaux. I love this.

"The summer sun is fading as the year grows old and darker days are drawing near.
The winter winds will be much colder..now you're not here.
I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky and one by one they disappear.
I wish I was flying with them...now you're not here.
Like the sun through the trees you came to love me, like a leaf on a breeze you blew away.
Through Autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way, you always loved this time of year.
Those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now...because you're not here.....because you're not here..."

This is great Dan. Your ability to see color, nuances of color, hue, intensity, light and shading, has always amazed me. Wish I had half your talant. Congratulations on another fantastic job. Like DBA says, the animation was like watching a tutorial.
davincipoppalag (May 17, 2004)
That animation was fun to watch. I tried that applet and for me it's just too much to try to remember where everything is all the time..I need all the tools in front of me, and I still forget . You could probably draw a great picture using nothing but a twig and some mud. This is great
