davincipoppalag (Jun 4, 2004)
He looks great for a dead guy! ..lol You did a really one here.. it really looks like one of those old portraits you find in state houses and such.. very very good.. it looks like oils on wood...
DinoFlorist (Jun 6, 2004)
Hm? I never saw this one before. And you never even told me about it. Shame on you, shame! Becasue you know how overjoyed I am to see old history book style paintings. This is what I wish to paint in real life, you know. And you can do it. >:( I mean, thats great that you can, but I still have to get over my customary jealous rage.

Not really.Twice I almost did when I was offered, but I did them for free :).
laurael (Jun 6, 2004)
Well, that was sweet of you...ever think of doing a turtle? Um...a badass Raphael with his wicked Sais? JK...(I'm serious, really) I would buy that for...oh...you name the price...I'm talking of an honest to goodness kickass poster that no one in the whole world would have but...'me'. I would be your slave...always... :] Gawd, I get goofy when I don't have no sleep...heh...
Gigandas (Jun 6, 2004)
Hehe, used to draw them all the time when I was like 7 :).Umm, maybe I could do one for you sometime?I remember when my mom painted me Donatello and I was all happy XD.She's a tole painting teacher, so she's got some skills.Anyways, yeah, I better get some sleep^^;.It was fun talking with ya :).Good night XD....
laurael (Jun 6, 2004)

Thumb looks a bit too long? Cute pic..
Knockoff (Jun 2, 2004)
Hah, thats pretty cool.
Though I agree the thumb is a bit to long.
Zack (Jun 2, 2004)
That's probably an effect of cropping and perspective. Plus the knuckle is a bit low. The thumb doesn't seem long to me, probably because I can picture what the rest of the hand looks like.

Wasn't exactly making my best anatomical effort either. :P
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jun 5, 2004)
OMG! This is great! How'd I miss this? LOL The paper looks real... shiny and crinkledy and sticky and stuff! Stickers make me happy :D! Thanks, ZACK.

Haha.. Ha.. e_e My bad -- I totally left 2draw. *Groan*
Ty854 (Jun 3, 2004)
Is colorist a word? oh well you are great at coloring and shading.
Kloxboy (Jun 3, 2004)
A colorist is not only a word but a profession. There are 3-D art colorists, comic book colorists and sometimes a colorist refers to someone who understands color theory. Also a colorist is also a name for a hairdresser who specializes in dyeing hair. I suggest you look it up if you don't believe me.
Ty854 (edited Jun 5, 2004)
I believe you. well then i guess theres only one thing i can say to that: you and porcalein ARE both great colorists.

ewww. that's gross. hehe. Someone online gave me that link and I kept laughing.
I haven't seen any of those bugs in Houston, but we do get June bugs here. :( omg, they are so fat and creepy.
safescene (Jun 3, 2004)
Yuck, june bugs are creepy, Kasha *shudders* They hiss and stuff..man, I hate those things :P

Nifty stuff, Icats. That bug's colors are really vibrant and cool, although I don't believe I'd want one flying around me if they're that huge :P The best part of this entire piece are the cheeks; I love 'em!
misterjimsan (Jun 3, 2004)
oo yea, this is cool
and i love cicadas, so enormous and insanely loud, ah yes, but it's all good for atmosphere on a nice summer day by the lake getting eaten up by mosquitos

Maybe I should leave my experiments to the beginner board. Oil pencil on canvas? I don't know really, not very detailed.
