So much warmth, beauty and grace, I couldn't escape her.
Everything is what I offered her and everything is what she became.
But, so I found out, she was never meant to be with. Once this was known, there was no rekindling the flame.
In my mind, she remains so vivid, attempts to forget her and her love have proven agonizingly difficult.
I was left with unrequited love, a curse so consuming it plagued my every thought...but why? and for who?
I was naive, not recognizing she was damned when I first met her.
She was blind and lead me to be blinded myself, this is the way of the damned.
Strong poison are the damned, their sickness lingers way too long.
I now know it is better to reject the damned.
Let the damned be damned.

Looking back
on the memory of
The dance we shared
beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end
the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance
Holding you
I held everything
For a moment
wasn't I the king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end
the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd' have had to miss the dance
Yes my life
is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
but I'd have had to miss the dance
Garth Brooks

You'll dance again :).

Hey klox, you've really tapped into something great here, in terms of layering and dimension, the implications are awesome, very inspiring.
ranger90039 (Mar 27, 2007)
I keep looking at this piece, it's got this creepy Pinocchio, mannequin feel to it. it would be interesting to see you do a few scary fairy tale drawings. =D
Zack (Apr 30, 2007)
Holy shit, bro. I love this Duchamp-ey kinda stuff you're doing. If I ever get good enough or noticeable enough that people bother to ask me who my influences are, you're going to be on the short list.

Nice character.
Punky (Apr 23, 2007)
I like the lineart in this one. It's kind of sketchy, but not messy and still looks pretty sharp.

Amazing how color can add depth like so. Nice work :)
Kloxboy (Mar 2, 2007)
Solve: Absolutely true, all the elements of any given image seen are merely a series of colors causing the various visual effects we see, including depth.
Naima (Mar 10, 2007)
Oops, slipped away again for a while - guess I'm only going to manage to be an occasional poster here no matter my intentions :P~. But anyway - thanks again, guys! :-D
Miss_DJ (Apr 22, 2007)
fun! You've got a lot of patience to do this kind of draw.

I was honestly surprised there wasn't already one of these floating around here.
Kurt Vonnegut, (I hope) obviously.
Hair needs to be done at some point.

Excellent tribute to a great writer...
enjoydotcom (Apr 13, 2007)
He has such a friendly face!
shalalaheartattack (Apr 13, 2007)
To Dave: Thank you. A wonderful writer.

To Joyce: He really does. He seemed like the type of guy who was so down to earth and convivial and just plain cool to hang out with. I wish I knew him.

Its pretty cool, I am immediately recognizing your art from the icon on the front page alone. Growing on me!
davincipoppalag (Apr 13, 2007)

This is for Davincipoppalaq who asked me to explain in as plain an english as possible how to do the trick involving angling and shaping all the brushes (including erasure) Since it's always easier to understand visuals then things written down (and I'm not sure if I explained it right) I did this. I hope it's self explanatory and makes sense now Dave. Sorry for the messy hand, I wasn't trying for picture perfect.

ohmygoodness...this is just unreal. I can't believe you drew all those things..lol..you're a patient and great artist, lady!
zep (Feb 12, 2007)
besides the excellent tutorial...i´ve found the way you did the image it´s quite impressive.
MARLONSEPPALA (Feb 25, 2007)
Okay Sweetcell But I think an old Advert use to play in the 60's on the tele.
It would show a few drawings that grew out of the top of a tree and at the end
A person would say where would we be without Art.
the Science, and Technology of the World always refers to Art for a Model to use.
Mal (Apr 13, 2007)
the picture confused me at first i thought i was looking at a print screen sort of , very good tutorial !

I think she might need some.

This is for solve. I'm not sure why you chose to ask me to do this, as I can think of several other artists here that would have been much better at this sort of thing, but I was very flattered that you did. I hope this is what you wanted and that you aren't disappointed. I had fun doing it.

Amazing work as usual!
Sugarskull (Dec 27, 2006)

I assume this is from (or inspired by) Bjork's "All is Full of Love"
video directed by Chris Cunningham.
Renuar (Jan 8, 2007)
full of suprises, and talent.
