been reading through dante's inferno again, planning on doing some actual paintings based on some of the circles. i'd really rather experiment with palette here than with canvas and paint and then realize halfway through that i hate the colours and have wasted a metric shitload of paint. :I

I agree with you. Those colours are way too serene to be found in an inferno. But then, I haven't read Dante since I was...well a very long time ago. I hope you'll do some more experimentation, though, because I agree, it's very interesting.tired of this. :I

wow, this is fantastic! great critter, good details. yeah, i have trouble with my pen being touchy, too, and i'm too lazy to learn the settings. still, it's so much easier than using an ink-filled rapidograph, or a quill pen. i still can't believe i used to do stuff in black ink, for years,afraid the ink would blot, and ruin it. and i did it anyway, there was nothing else; we're so spoiled now, thank god. love yer picture! it is really beautiful.

So I have strange things happen to me.... I wake at odd hours in the night, and weird things come to mind that I don't know where they come from... like last night at 3am... the name "Thumbelina" came to mind.... I didn't know anything about this fairytale but I figured it was some sort of fairy.... this is the ref pic I found.. only it's not as good as the ref. pic..............this is also a site I found that gives a more updated easier to read version of Thumbelina should you be interested: http://www.fairies-tales-art.com/Thumbelina-Fairy-Tale.html Part of the tale reminded me of a picture I'd drawn.
