One of my Childhood favorites

I had one of those growing up (but I can't remember if it was Anne or Andy) And I still have a childrens book from the 80's. Thanks for the memories Kute. :)
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Sep 13, 2006)
Raggedy Ann! :) I loved the book, and my Raggedy Ann doll was one of my favorites, although I put her through way more hell than Marcella did in the stories...my Alaskan Simoan dog Snow White ripped my Raggedy Ann's head off in the end. I think we should start calling Marcello "Marcella"... it's much closer to home. :D

I'm glad you did this picture, it brought back lots of funny memories, and you did such a cute job in depicting them.

Thanks everyone for the great comments on these, I guess they are just "Old Favorites" of a lot of people. Actually I do paint a lot of childrens characters for pay but on canvas I do much better than on the net. I am really not half as good as I would like to be. I have painted so many Winnie the Pooh pictures I have grown not to like "The Pooh" much. LOL My favorite childrens characters to paint is Disney, Mickey and Minnie. I just love them and could never paint them enough.

Both of the revisions are really good. The depth in this one, not just from the background but, from the face and everything in the bird is really cool. Almost feels alive.

I don't completely understand where I'm going or what I'm trying to accomplish. I don't think far into the future or anything. Right now I'm not even sure of everything that going on around me. I don't know why I do the things I'm doing. I don't think I'm enjoying myself either. Though I do find enjoyment in little things like sipping a glass of a fine drink at just the right time of day and weather. Or listening to a classic tune while relaxing and smoking some bud in a favourite spot. Will these things help accelerate my growing and learning? Probably not. But I don't know what I'm growing towards so what do I do? I don't know, but I'm really not motivated to find out, or do anything of the sort.

Oh man! This looks awesome! Love the style! Keep them coming! I don't know what it is your trying to accomplish either, but its eye candy to me.

Your description made me write a long comment (which eventually I chose to delete) about similar feelings Ive had.. I believed it helped me in some way (cause I got to the future me in all my philosophy) although Im still not sure who i'll become. Anyways, thanks.
Now, as for your art, I liked it, or else I wouldnt have read your description. Red colors and skeleton face contributes its muscular feel. It's like you peeled the skin.. :)
Plus, for some reason, I really like his right elbow. I think its perfect.

I'm not done. Hm... the picture ended up this way mainly because of the way the expression on her face was drawn. I don't know her!! Don't blame it on me!! -_-'
Kay, kay, done. I might retouch later.

You have a nice style.
If I may add, you can pretty much understand the attitude, without the baloon.
DoOp (Oct 6, 2007)
pretty pretty! ^-^ the face is the best :3 the shading on it was really cool and the eyes make me happy ":D
accidentalidentity (Oct 6, 2007)
Thank you. The balloon was there for fun.

I really like this picture, it was an excellent use of the color green, which is an amazing color in itself. I love your style; its cool, unique, and fresh, lovely work!

Beautiful bronze flesh tones... caught my eye and kept it there for a while :).
shults (Oct 6, 2007)
Can I ask, why did you choose to add those 'windows in her head'? (-Vinci's words)
Roytje (Oct 6, 2007)
Because she needed one. :)
Kloxboy (Oct 6, 2007)
Roytje: Well said "Because she needed one." Some pieces are best left to interpretation. Cool piece broski.
