Done to see what I could do without using the blend tool. The neck wattle gave me an eye twitch. To the point where I yelled at the screen, 'Damn you neck wattle!', and then I was reminded of my grade 8 com tech teacher, who also had a neck wattle. I used to watch it waddle instead of listening to her. And then I couldn't stop laughing, so I gave up. Stupid neck wattle.
emmamommalag (Jan 30, 2006)
Looks like you're doing great without the blend tool. The word is wattle, btw. Waddle is a way of walking... ducks waddle.
patienceisoverrated (Jan 30, 2006)
ahhh... Wattle it is, then. *Goes to change* You learn something every day.
davincipoppalag (Jan 30, 2006)
What'll we learn next!@!

First time coloring. I hope it suits the style.
davincipoppalag (Jan 30, 2006)
I like the color wash look you used. VEry pretty drawing Jay.
emmamommalag (Jan 30, 2006)
I think it suits it very well. A pretty lady.. someone you know?
JoeNobody (Jan 30, 2006)
I agree with momma, the coloring suits this very well. Nice work
Jervy (Jan 30, 2006)
Hi and thank you for the comments.I like to think I use alot of expression in my linework but sometimes it ends up looking like a sketch than a drawing. It didn't quite work well in this one but I'm shifting the focus to develop my coloring skills further. e.momma: lol I wish... |

I don't want to grow up. :(
staci (Jan 30, 2006)
i like this. while its kinda crude technique-wise , you definately captured the emotion/action going on here. which, even when copying straight from a ref is difficult at times.
SYTHE (Jan 30, 2006)
I love these little tiffs, they're always so funny. That's why I love this place! I still say I like this peice, so there! :P
TaCO (Jan 30, 2006)

DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 25, 2006)
If this is what you call a failure, I'm dying to see you succeed.... :).... This is absolutely beautiful. I didn't know there was a "Saint Kevin". One of my brothers is a Kevin, ... saint he ain't... Anyway, this is really a wonderful picture and I think you're being way too hard on yourself.
nobody (Jan 26, 2006)
it's like a little dream world. i like it.
Opium (Jan 26, 2006)
I like it terra! It's like watercolour meets oil paints...very calming!
Sinx (Jan 30, 2006)
OH MY GOD! I live in Ireland, and when I was in primary school, the crest of my school was that church! That's so weird! |

"It's A Dream"In the morning when I wake up and listen to the sound Of the birds outside on the roof I try to ignore what the paper says And I try not to read all the news And I'll hold you if you had a bad dream And I hope it never comes true 'Cause you and I been through so many things together And the sun starts climbing the roof It's a dream Only a dream And it's fading now Fading away It's only a dream Just a memory without anywhere to stay The Red River stills flows through my home town Rollin' and tumblin' on its way Swirling around the old bridge pylons Where a boy fishes the morning away His bicycle leans on an oak tree While the cars rumble over his head An aeroplane leaves a trail in an empty blue sky And the young birds call out to be fed It's a dream Only a dream And it's fading now Fading away It's only a dream Just a memory without anywhere to stay An old man walks along on the sidewalk Sunglasses and an old Stetson hat The four winds blow the back of his overcoat away As he stops with the policeman to chat And a train rolls out of the station That was really somethin' in its day Picking up speed on the straight prairie rails As it carries the passengers away It's gone Only a dream And it's fading now Fading away Only a dream Just a memory without anywhere to stay It's a dream Only a dream And it's fading now Fading away It's only a dream Just a memory without anywhere to stay It's a dream Only a dream And it's fading now Fading away ~Neil Young~

Everybody's favorite bush plane
Belldandy (Jan 26, 2006)
That's cool, really nice plane
nobody (Jan 26, 2006)
nice work overall. something about the perspective though makes it seem like it's leaning too far to the paddle (whatever you callit?) on our right. also, you may wish to use less grey in your shadows, as grey is a neutral color and may flatten it. try deep blues for the water, especially.
davincipoppalag (Jan 26, 2006)
Yea it sucks.. I got tired of working on it and posted it this way.
