Although I didn't do the coloring, I'll defend it. Technically it doesn't defy them. As you should know, light isn't omni-directional, it comes from many directions and bounces off things. Thus, if you have something thin and far away from the ground, you'll have diffused light from different directions easily getting around the stick and thus no shadow forms. As you can see the body's shadow is blurry, a product of the diffusion. If the hand is that faint and shadow so blurred, then the stick won't be visible at all.
The real questoin would be why the shadow is behind him, if the sun is also.

Oh my God, that's awesome. It really makes me want to grab a stick and skates, go out and ride around while yelling gutsy japanese phrases and "ORAORAORAORA!". That's how great it is.

Meep, isn't finished. I have to run out to the Apple store with my dad and I didn't have time to finish it ^^; I'm sooo not good with oekaki's, but I drew this with my tablet :) Someone suggest what I should do for a bg. Oh, and I'm not too great on drawing both eyes so.. sorry! ^^;

amuy: There is nothing wrong with showing one eye in a drawing. It pisses me off to think that people gripe about not seeing both eyes, but in manga's (graphic novels to most) the characters are sometimes shown with one eye or none at all.

Actually, I draw a blank Eye without pupils and irises, and then do the process and I draw the details.

This is going to be my icon for here. PaintBBS is very well suited to Pixelart. Pixelling's my main thing, I wonder why I don't do it more often on here....

Lascaux is better for pixelling, especially with a mouse. :)

Paint works faster than Lascaux for me. And I really don't need very many tools for pixelling, especially when they're so small. Anything really big (Click for a good example) I go straight to photoshop, though.

I know, but as a pixel (albeit crappay) artist myself, I like it better, the middle click dragging, right click to switch between erase/draw, and eye dropper. .... anyway, whatever. :-)

My first picture on this board. Nice to meet you all.
Sun Ce from Dynasty Warriors 4, ready to kick some ass. Inspired by his costumes 3 and 4. I didn't bother to look for a reference image, so I took some liberties with his look... and I like hearts. I also didn't bother to do a decent background, but hey...
I like the look on his face. He's one confident little bastard, isn't he? Oh, and don't ask why his hair looks like a plastic helmet, because I have no idea, but if they'd start selling that kind of helmets, I'd buy one. Yeah.
Anyway, all critique is welcome.

very funky, I like the perspective. The only problem I see is with the ends of the bats he's holding, they don't seem to match with the angle he's holding them at.

Shadows are always a good addition to make your picture look of a higher quality. What happened to that leg... looks like she's wearing a half boxer half bikini bottom ;) How do you make those crazy shapes?

Ok, can any one guess who he is AND what manga his from?!?! I'll give hint's, he's in a manga that is about TENNIS, and his initials are F.S. Who ever guesses who he is AND which manga he's from will get a truck load/half a truck load/fourth of a truck load ( you decide how much ) of what ever you want, you will need to work very hard to find out who he is AND which manga he is from though because not a lot of people know about this manga so you won't find a lot of sites about this that's in english ( I should know, it's my favorite manga >_> )...... ( I'll give clues a long the way if I'm there that day......) anyways I'll finish this later, I have to go to sleep, and tommorrow I'll be somewhere ( I'm always so busy, but I always manage to find time >_>; )

lmao I don't even know what the manga is, I've just seen a ton of oekakis about it on japanese boards. they write the title in english of course.

*this bell thingy goes off* marcello wins!!!! * the crowd/audience/what ever, from the jerry springer show comes and chants/yells "CELLO, CELLO, CELLO, CELLO!!!!! * all you have to do is name your prize and how many/ much you want... * some cheer leaders pop up from some where, in a limo, and pulls marcello in ,and starts cheering and smothering marcello with kisses and hugs, while the driver drives around in circles, and the jerry springer peeps chases the limo chanting/yelling " CELLO, CELLO, CELLO!!! I am steamed. I just finished a really cool person wearing an aggies shirt and was ready to submit it on oekaki so when i clicked save - a box said..'error if this happens again contact administrator' and then i couldn't upload and ARGH! I will kill that crappy program that sucks! I hate oekaki and oekaki hates me! Im so mad I had to draw this lil demented lion thing. RAWR!

lol nice. Funny expresion. Yup That happened to me before too. THere is a way to submit it though. Draw a pic on oekaki, then draw a pic on paint and you will see the page where it says you still have a picture that you havent submitted (oekaki)

Ya know... on the old version, oekaki was my buddy. It only messed up on me once or twice. But in the new version, it won't even load. Go figure. Well, now I have shi-painter and the pen tool to console me.

Cool skate! I would skate in it..but I cant skate to save my life..except when I was in kindergarten and I had some mean barbie skates. They were ahead of their time, they were! Yes goodtimes goodtimes!
