Specialty Boards/Contest!
lori (Dec 10, 2007)
I'm not aware of wings, just that I feel like I'm swimming in the air and people are down below watching me
I will try to make this better but keep in mind that my eyes are not working properly lately, the majority of the time

Looks good, we have several blue jays around this part of the country! but I know after watching a hawk attack one, there not friends. The hawk held it down and plucked its feathers, then ate it.

the first version, before you went bonkers, looked a lot like the kind of thing that Matisse guy did.
emmamommalag (Dec 23, 2007)
A lot of Matisse's stuff would likely get dumped on here, too.
lori (edited Dec 23, 2007)
weirdness, I haven't looked into any artists.. haven't had any schooling, so I only reallly know pretty much ones I like like Norman Rockwelll and stuff...

Aw, thanks. Yeah, the more good stuff we make here the more we'll inspire each other, for sure. I find that browsing through the CGSociety award galleries doesn't hurt either. ;)

Justin has some really loose works, but I prefer his tighter stuff, like this one and this one. The ideal for a concept artist is to get enough detail across for someone to make a good 3D model or get the "feeling" of a scene or character without needing all the work of a really clean finished piece (since stuff might get changed a lot or thrown out altogether), but sometimes Justin's work borders on being complicated mush.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (May 6, 2007)
HOT GUYS WITH WEAPONS!!! :) No, seriously, I see what you mean... I didn't delve far enough into his galleries to see those. I like them, as well.

Yes, I find it hard to put forth the effort to excel, or even to learn here, when the "players" outnumber the serious artists, and most of the art is silly, mindless doodling. Not that there's anything wrong with playing... you know what I mean. In a little bitty nutshell... I'm just glad you dropped in and painted something. :D

lori (Dec 21, 2007)
animals are amazing, elephants in particular... don't be so hard on yourself, so says one who's the same way... I decided to stay up and be myself tonight.. it's peaceful... man is it peaceful..... elephants have great ears, to hear the tiniest little things.. they also have such a great memory that they will remember a member of their own family should they be separated... things I've learned along the way.
I usually can't or wont do drawings that are more than about the time you spent on this... sooo tiring... one of these days I'm gonna try to do a really long one. One of these days...

two memories while drawing this:

ok here's one: There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza,
There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole.

So fix it dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
So fix it dear Henry, dear Henry, fix it.

With what should I fix it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I fix it, dear Liza, with what?

With straw, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
With straw, dear Henry, dear Henry, with straw.

But the straw is too long, dear Liza, dear Liza,
The straw is too long, dear Liza, too long.

So cut it dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
So cut it dear Henry, dear Henry, cut it!

With what should I cut it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I cut it, dear Liza, with what?

Use the hatchet, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
Use the hatchet, dear Henry, the hatchet.

But the hatchet's too dull, dear Liza, dear Liza,
The hatchet's too dull, dear Liza, too dull.

So, sharpen it, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
So sharpen it dear Henry, dear Henry, sharpen it!

With what should I sharpen it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I sharpen, dear Liza, with what?

Use the stone, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
Use the stone, dear Henry, dear Henry, the stone.

But the stone is too dry, dear Liza, dear Liza,
The stone is too dry, dear Liza, too dry.

So wet it, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
So wet it dear Henry, dear Henry, wet it.

With what should I wet it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I wet it, dear Liza, with what?

With water, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
With water, dear Henry, dear Henry, water.

With what should I carry it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I carry it dear Liza, with what?

Use the bucket dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
Use the bucket, dear Henry, dear Henry, the bucket!

There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza,
There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole.

Children's Nursery Rhyme and Poem
This is the house that Jack built

A Nursery Rhyme Poem for Children

This is the house that Jack built!
This is the malt that lay in the house that Jack built.
This is the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

This is the cat that killed the rat
That ate the malt that lay in the house that Jack built.
This is the dog that worried the cat
That killed the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

This is the cow with the crumpled horn
That tossed the dog that worried the cat
That killed the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

This is the maiden all forlorn
That milked the cow with the crumpled horn
That tossed the dog that worried the cat
That killed the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

This is the man all tattered and torn
That kissed the maiden all forlorn
That milked the cow with the crumpled horn
That tossed the dog that worried the cat
That killed the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

This is the priest all shaven and shorn
That married the man all tattered and torn
That kissed the maiden all forlorn
That milked the cow with the crumpled horn
That tossed the dog that worried the cat
That killed the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

This is the cock that crowed in the morn
That waked the priest all shaven and shorn
That married the man all tattered and torn
That kissed the maiden all forlorn
That milked the cow with the crumpled horn
That tossed the dog that worried the cat
That killed the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

This is the farmer sowing his corn
That kept the cock that crowed in the morn
That waked the priest all shaven and shorn
That married the man all tattered and torn
That kissed the maiden all forlorn
That milked the cow with the crumpled horn
That tossed the dog that worried the cat
That killed the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built!

I remember that song. Harry Belafonte . I remember the whole song.
lori (Dec 21, 2007)
lol, that's some pretty messed up stuff right there lol...
but it kinda reminds me of the at least 30 dogs in this neighborhood that bother the cats that run from the coyotes that all try to live at the house that some guy built that I live in lol
they changed some of those lyrics as I grew up though... and the teachers are continuing to do that....

where is Staci when I need her? She could piss me off enough so I'd want to get off my ass and go.
I am soooo addicted to drawing.
Hey Marcello... hello? Maybe you're at school. Being one of the smart ones. Got any insults?

didnt you draw your 5th 'goodbye 2draw' picture yesterday? how's that working out?
lori (Dec 21, 2007)
I'll never leave this site 'til Marcello shuts it down. And if he does he does. He'll always have my respect though. It doesn't work out to leave something you love, that being Lascaux, unless you are like those fwds. I get from family... something about angels coming in and out of your lives.... everything happens for a reason. You and Axil have my respect for keeping me out of the hospital though you knew I needed some help. I had to get through some physical stuff first though. But afterward, who knows.
I don't like to break my son's heart by leaving. Would you? I doubt it.
staci (Dec 21, 2007)
