EphemeralFlames (May 22, 2004)
This is a photo of me the day my best friend and I decided to play around with photo images to create Doll Faces. I think I do a much better job with image refs... Anyway, I was going to submit it unfinished and come back later, but I didn't think that I would be able to do that 'cause I was unsure of the file size. So, here it is, the finished product. Hope you like it. :0)

Why is it I only find the more obvious flaws after I post? There's still white around the exterior of the eyes, which happen to be uneven, and random dots where there shouldn't be random dots... any advice on how to make this more realistic?
laurael (May 22, 2004)
What a cool idea, this! Trust me...you aren't the ONLY one with the flaws after submitting, lol. Still cool with the 'flaws'. Um...sorry, I'm definitely not one to give realism advice...need it ma'self...anyway...great pic.
davincipoppalag (May 23, 2004)
Working on the picture before submission is very intensive..and often you don't focus on the whole picture to see the obvious stuff.. It happens on most of mine.. I kinda like the spots..they look like freckles

I like the slapdash busy-ness of it. The first one was good too... very comic-bookish. Draw more stuff here dude, I like this style.
craptastic_spaztic (May 22, 2004)
Thanks ZackF. I plan to draw more stuff if I wasn't so busy with work.
laurael (May 22, 2004)

Word up, I thought it was a trilobite too... but I thought they were all extinct before the Dino ages, like Paleozoic style. Cool find at any rate, nice going Staci.
PolythenePam (May 22, 2004)
Those things are called chitons...or maybe it's chritons...Either one. They're all over the rocks at the beach here...
Deathaisha (edited May 25, 2004)
it looks like a leach with fur!I hate leaches,bleh....awsome pic!
terracotta (edited Jan 18, 2006)
Chiton is correct. My favourite ones are called "Gumboot Chitons". It's pronounced ky tun, accent on the first syllable.

I wish I had that pig, but I wish it was my real pet. Meaning it would not be stuffed. Well actually it would be stuffed, but still alive. That way it wouldnt eat or deficate or die. Which would be nice, because it would also not feel pain, which holds limitless possibility for fun.
laurael (May 22, 2004)
Hey, snow...
Heh, dino...what an idea...love it! A pet like that 'would' be nice! (Pet 'turtle' for 'me')
LovelyLori (May 22, 2004)
should I ask... naah, I'm not gonna ask.... ok... Wally the pig? hehe... he's cutesy
laurael (edited May 23, 2004)
Uh...you're not refering to something OTHER than the pig...are ya? Then, yeah...don't ask...jk...lol.
Psst...(it's NOT what you think...)

How did yyou get this effect! I like this alot!
cmb (May 22, 2004)
basically press anything and see what happens- dodge burns out the colours- e eraser somehow blends- I did find a tool called soft on this one- then forgot it for the second- basically click each button to change options, slide red/green/etc sliders at the bottom tochange hue and flow? and make sure to wait while it submits - seems to take longer than lascaux
debem (May 22, 2004)
That Gemini curiosity of your's is fantastic, cmb! You motivated me to go play in Oekaki Shi-Painter some more...I hadn't figured out how to copy an area and move it until you set the example. You are oh, so very cool!
laurael (May 22, 2004)
This is great! Maybe I'll go play with it too...

I used a photo I took in my bedroom of a rose I recieved from a friend. It looks a lot better if you look at it from far away...
Hmm... the lines separating the curtain sections are a bit dark... I'm used to working in Adobe layers, and primarily with photographs themselves... *shrugs*

This is very well done, the very small lines and details make it so. Nice! :D
bumpinthenight (May 25, 2004)
oooh... very cool.... kind of looks like Relena Peacecraft from Gundam Wing... Does anyone else agree?
ILoveKenshin (Jun 6, 2004)
In a very weird way, it reminds me of Zakuro from Tokyo Mew Mew...

It's anine-ish, but then again it's realistic... not really realistic, but a little..

It's pretty ^.~
