wow, nature! Great frog and surroundings, you use the water colors so well, I have so much trouble with that. That's a beautiful painting and green coloring, also.

thanks DBE

This is really pretty and colorful......I like it.....I like frogs......I used to catch tadpoles when I was a kid, and wanted to watch them grow into frogs.....but they never did seem to live very long....:)

very nice draw.....I like it....:)
jekyll (Feb 24, 2010)
I'm sorry, Suntan, but I like the first submission better. I don't think the anatomical correctness of the hand is important here. It's more about what the hand is doing at this moment and where it goes in the next, the slippery skin and the sensual look on her face. You portrayed all of these things very well. I wish you wouldn't act so quickly to the criticism you receive. At least take a day or so to think about it (and make the changes on a separate layer in case you're not happy with them) Make changes if you want to but don't let any of us make you feel like you have to.

nicely 'painted!'

I started this months ago i just wanted to empty my gallery, i'm not doing a self portrait nobody wants to see a pair of huge dimples grinning back at them.
dorothyblueeyes (Feb 24, 2010)
no, I know this picture is not easy to do, you just make it look easy. The white is hard to convey, and also the water. Very elegant and beautiful.
firecracker (Feb 24, 2010)
You don't want to do a self portrait flubadub.......because you look so much like "Spanky" of the "lil rascals"......with your dimples......"lolzzz"...:P I do luv this swan though......beautiful draw!! :)

I dont mind the dodge and burn in this pic, i think she used them well without over doing it.
elly (Feb 26, 2010)
I tend to use dodge and burn in about every draw I do somewhere or another...can we say obsession?? lol! I do overuse them and I'm trying to tone it down a bit...I'm only in my 2nd step of the 12 step program for dodge and burn addicts =) LOL! Thx for the comments =)
Zero_Lemons (Feb 26, 2010)
I just want to hold it in my hands, it's so cute! I really love the details of the feathers. I think your use of dodge and burn is effective for this as a whole :)

I like to lick mustard off people, does that count?

We used to have a replica of this painting in our library growing up, scared the crap outta me when I was in there late at night. This does look a lot like it, you sure put a lot of time in your work, I don't know how you spare so much.

Spicy brown, regular or honey?
firecracker (Feb 26, 2010)
"lolzzz".....I'm sure glad that I don't like mustard.....:P

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

I made this because after telling my stepmother about some recent trouble I'm having... she felt I needed more religion... which was true. She gave me an article including these words.. and gave me her bible also, although I have my own.
There are certain things I cannot forgive myself for that have made me shy away from religion.....but that is when I need to find the strength to let God into my life to teach me.
I know if I make enough changes.. and I have alot of changes to make now...that eventually I will see the end results I've been waiting for. I mainly just want to draw here and enjoy the site... I do share too much sometimes or too much is shared about me..ahem.. and sometimes I can be a real beast... but I'm really just a chill person with basically nothing else to do sometimes than to... oh I dunno.... screw up. And I'm sorry for when I do.
firecracker (Feb 25, 2010)
Those are nice words Lori....I think most people could use a little more religion in their lives....including me. I have two bibles.....one was my "late" husband's, and one was given to me from my aunt. I keep wanting to sit down and read thru the bible, but whenever I try doing that, it sometimes can be very difficult to understand. I used to attend church on Sundays, but I haven't been able to do that anymore, and I miss it. I have done a lot of screwed up things in my life too, which I am sorry for. I do keep God in my heart though, and I do say prayers. I too, sometimes share too much about myself on this website, and I know that some people here don't like me.....but I'm really not such a bad person.....I just mainly enjoy coming here to see everyone's artwork, and I enjoy drawing pics. Those words...."do unto others...etc"....they are good words, and I'm curious to know what you would do if someone did something to you that was "beyond horrific"....would you want to "do unto them" what they have done unto you"....or would you just "turn the other cheek"...so to speak, and "do nothing"....I don't know if you will reply or not.....but I'm very curious to know what you would do......

"Awwwwwww"....this one is really adorable......that's the first time I've ever seen a baby mermaid. You're doing great with this pic.....I'm anxious to see it finished.....:)
Teapot (Feb 23, 2010)
A merchild! Lovely idea. I've always been fascinated by mermaid stories. I love her hair and the way you shaded the rock is very well done. Looks like they live in the Bahamas.

this is a beautiful painting, it really is a fine work of art,( unfinished tapestry?) Beautiful tapestry textures, and great painting. You should hang it on the wall.

What a fun drawing. Trying to figure out what the monument is a monument of, exactly. Does look like a pig with big hair...but then there seems to be kind of a squirrel tail, too. That sky has made my day. I don't want to talk about yard cleanup and trees.
Axil62 (Feb 24, 2010)
I think it's a monument to book burning
Flubbles (Feb 24, 2010)
I've been secretly admiring her style, it's free and loose and looks like it comes really natural to her.
