Lascaux draw and submit error
enjoydotcom (edited Feb 8, 2008)
So, I was nicely on the way of making drawing. When all of a sudden I couldn't draw anymore, or merge/switch layers. So I figured, best to submit the drawing and try again later. But it wouldn't let me submit. It asked the question, are you sure you want to submit, so I said, yes. Then the next box appeared with the timerbeam 1/5th of loading the png bla bla. And it dissappeared again. Tried this several times, no luck. So finally I figured, what the heck, "refresh" the page, maybe it'll reload....

Gettng the hang of it so fast Star, and I see you've gotten a love for the sharp tool. You and Miss DJ should talk.
The eye though seems oddly placed. Makes it look.... wierd. I feel it should be up and closer to the beak. But hey, good piece.
davincipoppalag (Feb 12, 2008)
This is beautiful Star! You sure got the hang fast!
KuteDymples (Feb 12, 2008)
You should be a professional artist the way you put these things out. I can't keep up with them. Somehow I missed this one and tought the last one you did was the only one I didn't see. The parchment and the way it curls really adds to this. I don't know what the sharp tool is I will have to see if I can find it next time I draw. What applet do you use to do these Starz? Is it the Lasaux? It is the one I liked before I joined another site and they didn't have it and I started using the shi-painter (not the pro) Now I am more used to that one.

I have been thinking how we could work best as a team. Composition and feel of colors are 2 issues. So I searched for a black and white ref which will be the composition-guideline:
mlle in magdeburg III - by Adonel
I think it has a lot of interesting things going on and it should be fun to mess with all these structures.
This is just a rough start...feel free to change anything you want, but you should keep it grayscale.
Let's see how we can get along :) Have fun!

This parrot was inspired from a photo by JustinBlackStudios who was kind enough to let me use his wonderful photo of this beautiful bird. I will put his link later. But need to say to him thanks so very much! http://justinblackphotos.deviantart.com/art/Elegance-32547187

Uh, this is gorgeous, those feathers are so bright and colorful.
Felistorm (Feb 28, 2008)
LOL all the ones I'm finding that I want to comment on turn out to be yours. Keep it coming. You have some really great art on here.

I just noticed your icon pic and was curious to see what it looked like upclose. Cool! I love how vivid the colors are in this picture, it makes it so life-like. I've seen your other drawings of birds and I think this one is by far the best one. I don't think I could have done this in 20 hours, great job girl!

Sorry but I seem to be drooling on the keyboard! This is wonderful jpjp and just in time for Valentine's Day. I recognize the one with a cherry inside on the third row down and in the middle....uummm!
Sweetcell (Feb 12, 2008)
Caramel, I'll take caramel.
Have to say one thing though,
these looks great, but they're
just a tad too sketchy.

Nice effect, did you sneak in a waterpaint brush in here? ;D
I also like her music, but I hate the idolization of a druggy/drunk.

Great job on this one jpjp. I think you should consider posting on "Advanced" from now on. Your talent is amazing, my friend.

Not done, but there will be a background on this one, I like the skin so far, and her hand made me
significantly happy, so enjoy the art so far.

Nice, so far :D, you've even have a hand showing, with a pinky :).
NOVEMBER93 (Feb 10, 2008)
This looks pretty good. I like the color choices you made. The only problem I have is the arm. It looks twisted and almost noodle-like.

Milhouse or Millhouse, never know one L or two. I actually think you made them very recognizable, but it is best to do the line art on one layer and the coloring on the layer under the lineart one. That makes it possible to not get those mean white spots. :D. Use the bucket/fill tool only if it is for large parts (like the background) or if you are willing to mega-zoom in to fill the white bits. Believe me, it is much easier to use layers.

Highlights and thinner lines?
I think it's really good though :D

The Hair is Pretty.
Love the Lips. :]
enjoydotcom (edited Feb 8, 2008)
Use different colors from the same family, in different linethickness. Play with opacity. For really thin lines use the airbrush type brush 1 pixel and set the s-slide to the vertical line. Draw always in the same direction, in the way the hair grows is most natural.
Make sure you don't see any white/skin color where you yourself wouldn't want to be bald either. Hope this helps.

If you want to see what it looks like with my method, you can go to the first pages of my userboard. It has been long time since I drew a hairy girly :D.
