It's getting there..do it more..take the little tiny close togther diagonal lines from the full color part and through the dark outline so the edges look feathery..

edited the figure (ty HunterKiller) and added floor- it's meant to look like wood. Any suggestions how I can make it look like wood?

Ah! That's looking much better, you could even squash the head a bit more, lol.
Most wood is actually a mixture of pale yellows rather than this rich brown, which gives a more synthetic look. Touch it up with wood grain, long strips and those circle 'eyes'. Google some wood textures and you'll see.

ok..the problem i was having earlier with this picture was that..when i submitted the drawing..the image that appeared in ''my studio'' was horrible and pixely..so to get it back looking good i had to go into revise and resend the image...i was really worried that this last version would do that but hopefully its ok...

Very nice picture Rosemary.I like the sofntess of the hair..Maybe a little more shadow where the hair meets the skin, because it looks a little like it's not connected.

i found out my boyfriend is not moving afterall, so i drew this. isn't it like, um, so romantic?
haha, hes supposed to be a little skinny, mellow, mexican boy, but for some reason he turned out looking somewhat like an angry kirk hammett.
