Was just in the mood to draw. Not my normal dragon (the head anyway) but thought it was sort of interesting. Will work on it some more later.

Research on 2Draw Artists - Your Assistance would be Appreciated
NicholasArt (edited Nov 8, 2010)
Hi 2Draw Artists, I'm a PhD student at the Georgia Institute of Technology studying Art and Technology, and I find the community and tools at 2Draw particularly interesting. I am studying how technology affects the creative process and working to design new creativity support tools to help facilitate artistic creativity. From what I have seen on the site, there are some great artworks and remarkable collaborations that happens here, and I want to study how artists are leveraging the features...

Those skintones are very nice! Loving the cool shadows.
ChalkDust (Mar 21, 2011)
Yeah, repeating what was already said, but the skin tones are really great. And the bit of spine poking out under the skin is wonderful too.
dorothyblueeyes (Mar 22, 2011)
yeah, that's really a great painting, but how did the model ever get out of the chiropractor's office again?
itchymonkey (Mar 23, 2011)

you are right Miss DJ, it could use more work, I just got tired
Miss_DJ (Mar 20, 2011)
Understandably! There's a lot going on here. You're brave to even try..I wouldn't have. :o)
pawillie (Mar 20, 2011)
thanks Miss DJ, there is still more work to do on it, I have been doing fabric painting on micro fiber and then making them into hand bags and selling them but ran out of supplies and am waiting for new supplies to arrive so am back to drawing on line
dorothyblueeyes (Mar 20, 2011)
Hi, it's beautiful. I thought you,and others here, since we're all artists, would like this movie link to youtube's "El Greco", in English, a Spanish-Greek production. The famous El Greco, who painted in Spain; this is a very beautiful movie, really gorgeous. (NOt sure if this is appropriate, but thought you might enjoy it,and the cinematography is beautiful.)

Wow, you are painting fabric, and selling the bags you make? That's great. How the heck do you do it?You could give us all a lesson on how to apply art to making some money, I'd love to hear about it. Really selling art work is a great accomplishment. Did you talk about it, on the forum? Thanks, Pawillie, I think your work is great.

Frankly,I think itchy's is better than the Picasso. (My opinion.) Itchy's work was far harder to do,trickier, and took more detail, patience, than the Picasso. All the work of Itchy's is more delicate, subtle, and that was never a trait that Picasso could do.He was just a big, bold BULL. I think it's easier to make sweeping, bold statements; but the subtle, tricky hard stuff of depicting reality, without making it too stiff, is very demanding. Excellent, Itchy.
itchymonkey (Mar 23, 2011)
well thanks, you are too kind.
lori (Mar 23, 2011)
this bulged my eyes out :) I love it.
marcello (Mar 24, 2011)
being a successful artist is just as much about being a good salesman as being a good artist. you have to understand the works in the context of the times, how they are presented, and how they are received.

monetary worth is arbirtrary, anyway. why do people pay thousands of dollars for some t-shirt that a rock star wore? if I were to tell you I had a painting by pablo picasso in my museum, you'd be far more interested in visiting than if I said I had some schmuck you've never heard of. that's worth money.

Those metal textures.....lovely!!
dorothyblueeyes (edited Mar 19, 2011)
that is wonderful, great. Sheesh.,looks like a science fiction magazine cover. I love that movie, saw it long time ago. I think "The shape of things to come."I think it has some famous old actors in, like Raymond Massey, ect. It was trying to show our world, civilization, had atomic war(I think)and became destroyed, primative. But some people saved a few airplanes, and decided to go forward with technology, and in the future, mankind finally went (almost) to the moon. It was trying to show, there was a good future, after atomic disaster, and man would go to the stars. I love that movie, great picture. YOU did good. Beautiful style, technique. "Showcase!"
gronqvist (Mar 20, 2011)
Thanks for your comments! I do love shiny metal.
ChalkDust: the first one was already pretty close to what I wanted, so it was easy sailing from that point.
Dorothy: yes, that's the one!
