Very nicely done. I like your architecture stuff.

If I would have just seent he image I would have assumed it was one of klox`s works due to the colors and well made shapes. Nice view point on this location. I am a sucker for spiraling stairs and the palette you chose. Nice work : )

Thats a kewl drawing! only 41 minutes? wow... looks like it took a long time

Thanks everyone. :] I think I went for an isometric viewpoint to make the blending between abstraction and shape-popping easier on myself. Making random structures out of the radiating lines and concentric rings emanating from a single point is an easy way to start off an interesting abstraction.

edit: Also, I love dropping in sets of stairs because you can establish a sense of scale without having any people in the picture.

More practice without ref. Seems to be improving! :)

edit: kinda looks like that face you make when you're about to burst out laughing. heh.

Working, mostly. Got a job as a level designer for a nearby videogame company. Decided I don't really like being a level designer so I'm trying to boost up my art skills to make the switch to being more of a concept artist.

Kinda looks like a bald you.

Nice face on the guy, with the green it could be he's cutting an onion too. His eyes kind of have that chemical burn look to them that only onions can give.

Practice without reference. The old flawed tendencies are still there, but I think I'm getting closer. I tend to draw the eyes and lips too small, among other things. Crits welcome.

'Bout time.

Thanks! Yeah, I think the chin turned out well. It's funny, when I cover up everything except the right eye, or everything except the chin, it looks fine to me. I'm thinking the problem has something to do with either perspective or proportions between the different parts of the face.
HunterKiller_ (edited May 5, 2007)
Yeah dude, it's the eye, the right eye. Covered it up with my thumb and the rest gets an instant improvement. I think it maybe that it isn't aligned horizontally with the other features.
I think it needs to be higher.
I'm no expert with this stuff, so don't take my word too seriously. =)

I bet Klox would know the exact answer, he must, drawin' dem faces all day long. =]
Zack (May 6, 2007)
That could be. I'm starting to think that the eyes are drawn at the wrong perspective for the rest of the face. Cover everything from the bridge of the nose down and the eyes look okay. What do you think, Klox?

:D I really liked version 3.

Very nice characteristics in his face.
shining_star_sam (Jul 27, 2006)
I like version two :P
kejoco (Jul 27, 2006)
I don't know if its my eyes or the monitor or what, but when I go from version 2 to 3 I can see the colours fade in and out...either way, looks good.
davincipoppalag (Jul 28, 2006)
It's that way...2 is lighter greenish..3 is kinda light aqua...
