dude, this just plain rocks. i mean, it's got a demon in the bg, a rubber, and you can tell it's a self portrait coz o dat other one you did which won dat contest. not only that, the colouring is yours, and yours alone :D
davincipoppalag (Jul 16, 2006)

Draw a diety that's not here.
No anime or manga, please.
And a female, please.

EDIT: To some who are confused, I'm saying like a nymph, or a God.

Elementals:
Fire - Taken by Violette
Water - Taken by Pandabarrie
Air - Taken by patienceisoverrated
Earth - Taken by Sweetcell

Finally done. Thank you everyone for particpating. It turned out great.

The gentle earth nymph holds the Aethra Flora, the air flower, to represent her free spirited sister, Aspira Caelum, air nymph. Next to the Aethra Flora, is the smoldering Flamma Flora, which represents her hot-headed sister, Ignifer Ignigena, fire nymph. Soft moist petals brush against the smoldering ones. This flower is the Aqua Flora, representing her calm, meditative sister, Aquarius Dulcis, water nymph. and in her own thick, mottled hair, a flower blooms, bearing the name of Terra Flora, representing her solid, kind self, Terrana Terreus, earth nymph.
(Kudos to Sweetcell for the idea.)

Really, why would you need that? It's the beauty of the elements, not a peep show. Love this one, will always be a favorite.

1. As you begin to draw, concentrate on the simple lines that suggest gesture - the angle of the shoulders, the thrust of the hip, the curve of the spine, the position of the legs supporting the weight - and indicate these quickly, and decisively (about 12mins should do if you're a n00b like meh)

2 Develop the solid form of the figure and indicate the shadow side with tone (15minutes)

3 Finally, strenghen the total drawing to emphasize the gesture as well as the form.

This is really good. Please finish?
Sweetcell (Jul 14, 2006)
Has a nice pencil feel to it. I did things like this when I was younger, it's a bit freeing isn't it. Finish soon.
Childlike_Vampire (Jul 14, 2006)
Ooh, I like this very much. Nice and flowy and abstract yet graspable. I really like the profile of the face. Nice picture so far!
strangeoid (Jul 15, 2006)
I think this is particularly scrumptious. Sometimes, art projects bring out just the right kind of inspiration.
The eye and the hair are particularly lovely.

New Mac G4, which is much better than my old iMac G3. Unfortunately, My old tablet does not work very well with the new StudioDisplay flat-screen monitor. Too small. And I just spent an hour re-installing the Wacom tablet driver because I accidently switched my Mac from OS 10 to OS 9, and surfed the apple website for upgrades to the software. All was to no avail.

So I won't be drawing for a while, not until I can save up to buy a new tablet. I mean, they have different sizes for a reason, right?

Oh come on man, suck it up and draw with the mouse, yo. At the public library after school. Or something.
And quit showing off with all those fancy words like...10 and...flat.
lol...nice inky look there, sweet messy muscle definition. But I must admit I don't understand what's going on with the dudes head...or your computer problem. Good luck and all that.
Violette (Jul 10, 2006)
I know. I can draw fine with a mouse. I hate iMacs. They give me much trouble.
