Kayos
(Aug 7, 2006)
A group of inventers were trying to break the land spead record, and they stumbled upon a new kinda of purpulsion. This was a highly dangerus engen that was capible of incredible power. They mounted the engen onto a land rocket racer and did some tests at low power. They found it easy to break the current records, even at small amouts of power used. The piolet decided to try another run at much greater power. going across the salt flats at almost 10,000 mph, something happend to the vehical and started speading up out of control. A brilliant bright fireball hurlled into the distant mountains ant incredible spead. They recorded a spead of 15,000 mph untill the vehiclal disintergrated into multen metal. The force of the exeleration ripped up the ground and made a scar in the dirt that was 10 feet deep. Unfortunatly the piolets body was never recoverd. |

Can't see the forest through this tree
Sweetcell (Aug 8, 2006)
Looks good, clean up the tree lines, and are you using layers? It helps if your painting behind something. Keep going tam.
tamsentamsen (edited Aug 9, 2006)
thanks sweetcell, I am just such a total beginner, at 2draw, and at art in general, that I ran out of space in my clumsy attempts at experimenting... so much time, and so few pixels... haha... I did try layers... but it was my first time with them, so not so well ! Thanks for all the help, Sweetcell... I am having fun with the layers...
senshi (Aug 9, 2006)
It took my 2 months to figure out what everyone meant by layers. i need to be more freindly, then someone coulda told me how ta do em
Sweetcell (Aug 9, 2006)
Took me a while to figure out layers too (the same for everyone) I describe layers as transparant paper, or tracing paper. Every layer you draw on you can see through the next. So, the first (bottom) layer is the background. Each layer you add after is like placing another sheet of paper on the last. So the top piece of paper (the last layer on the very top) will cover the others. So use the first layer as the background. Anything you draw on it will always be behind the layers, so you can actually color over your main layers and not go over your picture. (In this case the background is the sky and ground and the second layer is the tree. You can color your sky without coloring over your tree and get a smoother effect.)Sketch on the second or third layer, then ink on the same or another layer, and then color on yet another layer, and you can get a clean looking piece. It sounds like more work but it's worth it. Hope this has helped with the layer confusion. I wish someone had told me but it's a bit hard to explain it properly. You'll find the layers on the left. There's the window that shows you your actions, beneath that are the layer tools. The paper is the add another layer. Click until you get as many as you need. You can merge them, like glueing two sheets of paper together, takes up less space, or delete, or even switch them around. It's fun to try and expiriment. Good luck and hope to see more from you. :) |

I just noticed that you didn't color her ear, and it's a bit sketchy, but it's minor. I still love this one. Always a treat to see well drawn anime. |

VQ (Jun 30, 2006)
It looks like a ribcage to me. I love how it was drawn, it also looks like feathers. Feathery ribcage... that wouldn't be much use to anyone...

So inventive, the graphics are well done. And such a yummy green. And only NOW do I see the little guy sitting on a building that could also be the big guys shoulder. Up till seeing it I thought it was a candle wick. It still looks like one if you don't look closely. This really makes you look.EDIT: It's weird to say, but I really like the first version as well. Messy but more abstract.
Deino (Aug 8, 2006)
Oh, very nice! those waves in the temporal-occipital parts of this guy skull, I really like them. They look like vital signs, sound waves and a city and it's reflections. Very imaginative.
Renuar (Aug 9, 2006)
I really don't know what this is, or how it would work on a daily basis. Although, for the sake of story telling... i would say he's a daydreamer. In the sense that his body's not very mobile, therefore, during the day he projects himself into the city and lives out his dreams there. Anyway, thanks for the replies. |

cute. and I love the background XD
wboyer (Aug 8, 2006)
the main focus of the piece is very sweet and nicely drawn, but it's the presence of the UFO zapping the running dude that really makes this picture. Nicely done, Bunnyslippers :D
tamsentamsen (edited Aug 9, 2006)
She looks like she has a secret that she can't wait to tell somebody.. Typical of a happy human not to notice destruction and horror through their fog! ha! |

Stuff and nonsense. Simply continuing to learn. My Marc claims there are faces in the trees... And that they are in fact happy little trees... And that I did it on purpose. It might be just done and done. I don't know. I can imagine a dwarf dude, big ol' axe slung over his shoulder, bare chested, a bit sun burnt maybe. He's all decked out in his swim trunks and dragging his towel, heading home from a day of fun in the sun. It's very possible however that he's just gonna stay in my head. Or maybe he'll appear in some later picture where he wouldn't be a last minute addition. Stuff and nonsense. Simply continuing to learn. My Marc claims there are faces in the trees... And that they are in fact happy little trees... And that I did it on purpose.

Looks to me like a spaceship skimming the surface and the force breaking up the rock. Love this piece. Too bad about the pilot.
Am not saying the art sucks, I like that too!
