I wanted to do more buy my mouse is acting all screwy. Ugh. The lines don't match up with where the cursor is. The line starts about an eight of an inch above the cursor. I don't know how to fix it. Ugh
StrawberryPaintbrush (Nov 1, 2010)
Hey, it's nice to see you're still drawing on here. I haven't been on in so long. I don't even know if I would remember how to use the damn thing!

Going through random stock photos, I chose to do this lady because I liked her gaze. I did this piece to study the technique of zimbrulfurios/gratuitous candy, but I ended up using dots. I was particularly brave here, and it was alot of fun.

Great drawing, the way you've done it really is interesting.
Suntan (Feb 28, 2009)
It's wonderful!
Miss_DJ (Feb 28, 2009)
very nicely created! you've captured her emotion very well!
Aubrey (Jun 13, 2009)
This reminds me of a project we had to do in 8th grade art which had us punching out hundreds of little colored dots out of construction paper and gluing them into one big picture. Was the hardest thing to do, but turned out pretty cool. Kinda like this.

my little friend?

correct, not sarcasm, just an observation.

wait wait so making the rounds commenting and drawing periodically isnt allowed anymore? gee dave you're out of a job.
davincipoppalag (Oct 4, 2007)
Well they say opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, and it seems that here ,assholes have opinions too.
Arique (Oct 9, 2007)
You shouldn't say mean things staci. Dave has been a supportive artist here who deserves a lot of admiration for his kindness. The reason he gets so many comments is because he has gained the respect of so many people who appreciate the comments he makes on their drawings. I'm no exception...
Axil62 (Nov 5, 2007)
Yeah? Well this isn't 2comment, it's 2draw. So leaving phony ass positive comments on everything (no matter how shitty the drawing is) so that no talent little shits will like you, is pure bullshit, Arique. So you can take the whole "I'm gonna leave a nice comment on so-n-so's because they left one on mine" and shove it up your ass. Oh, and another thing Dave, must you end EVERY phony comment you make with an exclamation point?
Are you people really so pathetic that these token dime a dozen bullshit comments that Dave is always leaving actually mean something? Don't you get it? He leaves them NO MATTER WHAT YOU DRAW. They mean nothing but "lets trade nice comments with each other no matter how shitty our drawings are...yeah, that's it, lets blow smoke up each others asses and pretend it's all wonderful!"

I love your style so far. Nice job with the background and making it smooth and blended. I can see that you are starting to understand the applet. Keep up the good work friend!

boy if i had a nickel everytime my husband said that 'i'll fix it tomorrow' thing... hmmmm some of the things i can think of were 19 years and 362 days ago, and they still aren't fixed. =D

i like this painting because it depicts that they are comfortable being 'together', while they aren't actually interacting and they are each in separate planes of thought, they remain as 'companions', and still comforted by the other's presence. I hope that makes sense... it does to me. =]
StrawberryPaintbrush (May 31, 2007)
A lot of people interpret Hopper's paintings differently and I read an interesting article about the various interpretations of just one piece. I usually get a depressing and very lonely feeling when I look at his work, as if the subjects are deliberately ignoring eachother as if to make a point. But I can also see what you mean DBA, that they look content with eachother without acknowledging one another.

I totally agree with Strawberry Paintbrush ... I see a lost connection in this. Actually, it's the woman's left arm and hand that makes me feel as though she has given up on trying to reestablish a connection... feeling like it is just no use any longer. So, I feel the art evokes emotion and thought but not necessarily the emotion and thought that would draw me to a work of art. However, this is a beautiful rendition!

Hahahahaha, this... this is just perfect. Whenever a draw fux up on me I'm just going to improvise like this. Can't stop laughing it's so funny. Reminds me of The Toad in a british cartoon that for the life of me I can't remember. *sigh the ole brain pan going squish*

As opposed to red Cindy? Imagine if you just ate the red ones. :D
DeadlyBlondeArcher (edited Jan 20, 2007)
You mean like Red Lake #5? Anything red tastes horrible to me... I can taste the dye. Part of being raised in the wild, I guess. I only know you definitely aren't supposed to eat the green M&M's

I love those little hoppy frogs on the bottom ^_^

I, do. I hate Even though I have to draw with one. How much are tablets anyway? But I don't think a tablet would help me much, I would still suck. x-x;

I love elephants and drawing too! I recently finished an acrylic relief painting of an elephant and I used the blue and the brown too. Very nice.
