The American Flag. WOO!!!! My brother is in the Army, my dad was in the Airforce,my sister is in the Marines, so I thought I would draw the American Flag. Comments and advice please.

You have more than enough space, if your very proud of your country go back and fix it.

Just an fyi you asked for comments and advice, maybe people were being a little sarcastic in their comments but their advice is sound. And if you have trouble drawing straight or curvey lines then take advantage of the line and bezier tool, they come in very handy, as well as the circle and square tool. And for God's sake remember, the fill tool is NOT our friend. Consider using the new gradient for the background, and study a real map to see how many stripes and stars there are. This isn't bad, it just needs work. Be proud, redo your flag. This is advice cookie, not negative commentary.

Fog is almast as hard as lightning...I try to do it with a separate layer, low opacity.grayish..then I go to eraser set on really low opacity and thin parts out... it's not easy

definite depth, try and use shadow instead of actual outines and you will get a more realistic effect ( although that may not be what you are working towards) its great seeing how people learn here.

a fairly quick piece. just something that's been floating around in my head for awhile.
i hope that it's appropriate for the board as i haven't drawn here before.
it's suppose to be more modern, less realistic and have a sense of timlessness that life can have sometimes.

I'm pretty surprised this didn't get first place. It's definitely an original and creative coupling of Speed Racer and Rembrandt! My hat is off to you.
