Aww I thought it was kind of cute. Just like son of Kong..
Shanghai (edited Feb 25, 2005)
Have you ever seen the old cartoon of it? It was a whole series with Godzukie, son of Godzilla, and every episode at the very end Godzilla would come in and save the day. Somehow the characters had made friends with him, never actually caught on to how that happened. This reminded me of him before ever reading the title so nice job on it.
Noremac (Mar 6, 2005)
and it was great cause godzukie was just some bad ripoff of a constantly stoned scooby-doo who could try to breathe fire but failed miserably... god that show is gunna give someone a stroke someday

roight, so i found this ref in my explorations of the world wide interweb. it was posted on a site about pictures this dude found in dumpsters. pretty weird. but not really. he didnt even have this one featured tho. which WAS weird since imho its most interesting and mysterious. it was described as an 'Old Polaroid'. who is it? why is it so dark in their house? was it a boy? a girl? a small woman? and more importantly, dont they know chiffon curtains are sooo out? is the scratching a deliberate act of a scorned luffer? or was it just smooshed between a dominos pizza box and a broken Journey cd. i want to know, but will never find out. thats why i drew it ^_^

You know, I loved this picture, and it drew me in, and I decided to comment on it. And then I read the description, and i'm now in love with your brain. Great drawing.

I like her red eyes. It's a nice accent to the image and gives us something to focus on.

hi, I can't see it 'cause my 'puter's dumb sometimes, but I can see the thumbnail, and I like it.
Shanghai (Feb 25, 2005)
I like messing with buttons too, it's how I learned to use photoshop, though it'd be nice if you could pretend there was a reason for this. My art teachers tell us stuff like if we get asked if we meant to do something in the picture, like make someone's head big, then the answer is always Yes I did mean that. Anyways, it is a pretty cool glowing effect you got.

Almost reminds me of German Expressionism based on the style. I like this, though I feel like there's too much focus on the bottom right corner since the cat, although well made, has the only warm colors in the picture. If there was some warm colors in other parts of the picture then it'd balance out more. I like your style a lot though.

- I mean bright and warm. The monitor I was on earlier was showing the red couch as a muted brown...

I like her pose. She looks like she's free-floating in the liquid. I feel like the edges of the sphere she's in should be softer though, more like the edges of the color splotches at the corners, to make it look more organic.

I altered the edges of the sphere, the comment was right.

gotta finish up that background..

(I am just wishing you were here
So we could walk down to the stream
And we would throw all our leaves in
Seeing our dragons when we look up)

I think so far you have a nice use of a wide color range. Your use of all three primary colors seems to make this feel very alive and active.

I was just about to go to bed, and then suddenly i got this pic in my head.. So i hurried to 2draw and drawed it..
Made without use of any kind reference.

Purposely didn't use antialiasing etc - wanted it to be completely black/white...

now i REALLY need to go to bed.

This image has a very strong impact. I think it was a good choice to not use antialiasing since you would have lost a lot of the impact if you had.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Feb 24, 2005)
This is cool, there was some really old tv show... was on when I was a kid that had something like this in the beginning. Was it... The Untouchables? somebody older than me that was actually WATCHING it will have to say... lol. Neat picture, anyway. Sometimes the only company I want is my shadow.
spiritdweller (Feb 24, 2005)

She stares into the water...seeing only a distorted image of herself.

I like the concept here of the distorted reflection, which can be poetic in a way, but I think without the desciption it's a little hard to see that as being water since the color of the girl is so different from the water. If she were tinted the more same color as the water then it'd be clearer.

Why's she blushing so much? Someone grabbing her ass or something?
Anna (Feb 24, 2005)
yeah.. the anime girls get that scratchy blush stuff when they're doing something naughty! O_o
Shanghai (edited Feb 24, 2005)
I think you did well at having her head shape/size being in proportion to her body, since most anime or anime-influenced artists tend to draw heads way too big.
Yu-chan (Feb 24, 2005)
She's blushing because she's shy and there are so many people here. And because I thought her face just needed something extra. And anime don't ALWAYS blush when it's something naughty. They could just be embarrassed. Thank you redpanda, I try to be proportionate. :D
