Is there such thing as oekaki spam?
nekodesu (edited Mar 28, 2005)
Since this weekend, I've seen some..... "potentially good" (meaning crappy) pictures done by the same person which he or she submitted a new one every 10 or 15 min which are in the beginner's section. I know that person is still practicing and stuff but what happened to this sentence that appears before selecting an applet to draw in "remember that you don't have to submit it just because you drew it." and 10-15 min is a bit hard to put a decent amount of work to it....so is there such thing as ...

Different types of art?
cheetos (Mar 28, 2005)
What is your favorite kind of art? Anime? Realism? Abstract? 'Cause I've noticed how different the types vary between numerous people, and was interested in you opinions. I personally like realism and......what type of art do you call Vincent Vango work is, because I adore his style. (and anime)

trying my luck with just using 1 colour, quite fun and easy to make something fairly good-looking, although the face was quite annoying.

It's a nice effect of red on black, but I think the grey on the right side is distracting me. I'd like it more if the background were solid black.

On most things you did a great job of drawing them, and you even added some subtle shadows in a few places that really make it seem more complete. My one complaint though is that you put that much effort into drawing everything but you cut corners on the lettering and made it flat instead of rounded with the surface of the baseball. It just looks out of place to me to see mostly proper perspective overall except for right there.
Anna (Mar 28, 2005)
Yesh. I love this because of the baseball in there. w00t for baseball :-D
Zinc (Mar 28, 2005)
yeah, I really was too lazy to do proper perspective for the lettering. way too lazy. but hey, thanks.

p.s.- w00t. go wilson. go red sox.

I looks a lot like a Japanese painting, very peaceful. I'd like to see more of these, and some bigger too.
davincipoppalag (Mar 25, 2005)
I love that color in the water there, Sherry. This does look like a Japanese painting

May I suggest testing in the beginner's board instead? Of course since this is still unfinished I can't judge how it'll come out yet, but I'm just going on my impression of what you wrote.

One in a million.
Shanghai (Mar 24, 2005)
I don't personally know what makes what I make different from what anyone else makes in art. In most cases I don't see what makes what anyone else makes unique either. Anyone with enough skill at reproduction could copy anything I make just by looking at it, and my own level of skill isn't really as high as I used to think, and there's people years younger than me just as skilled. Does anyone know what makes someone's art unique among the millions of other artists making billions of other artwor...

I should probably be paying attention instead of doodling in class.

I have a hard time paying attention if I'm -not- drawing in class. Too easily distracted and too short of an attention span to dedicate it all to just the teacher and think I won't drift away after about 60 seconds.
Ty854 (Mar 24, 2005)
I don't pay attention either way. I like this.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Mar 24, 2005)
Your subconscious mind is absorbing stuff while you doodle, so it's okay. This is probably the "artsiest" thing I've ever seen you do. I like it.
marcello (Mar 24, 2005)
I think this is more artsy, but that's just me.

Bleh... I'm trying to get better at graffiti. I'm quite pleased with this one but it's pretty basic.
I really want to do the really abstract stuff... I'm not too good at it though. :s
Might try one later.

Glad 2draw is back up. :)

Happy Easter Everyone! :D

I don't have enough experience with graffiti to really say how good it is with that, but the glowing effect is great. Having all those little circles of lighter color seem to give it a liquid look.
DinoFlorist (Mar 24, 2005)
The effect is nice, but your lettering is really juvenile and bubbly looking. Believe me, I am 100 percent aware of the difference between tablets and actual pen, so maybe it is attributed to that.

i say try going with the wild style or clay 3d style!
