very simple....nice

I know I've seen an artist that has a very similar style but I can't think of who. Anyways from the title I'm getting the impression this is a close up of a wall plug but from the picture alone I'm seeing a very tall, thin building that's on fire and has smoke pouring out the top floor window. I'm also very tired and may be seeing things differently.
Gigge (Feb 28, 2005)
What an unusually usual subject. The soft warm lighting against the cold metal is a nice mix. I like this.
davincipoppalag (Feb 28, 2005)
I hope you do finish . It's an interesting choice of subject matter, and I like it too.

That's a pretty big difference between the versions. The faint look in her eyes and the way they're wide open but barely there is really creepy. Good job.
davincipoppalag (Feb 21, 2005)
This is a good one Helena.. Maybe make the face just a bit more defined..not a lot..just a tad so it gets your attention just a wee bit more.. I like this very much
emmamommalag (Feb 21, 2005)
There IS a face in there! Took awhile to get what you two were talking about. Yes, a little bit more definition .. it has a nice feel to it.
Pantera (Feb 28, 2005)
Yes the face is a "soul" that is why you can not see much detail :)

I tried everything for the damn BG... BUt... I can't do BGs!!! CRAP!! *cries and runs to eat pizza* Um, pizza ^^
Shanghai (Feb 25, 2005)
I like the background actually. It fits well with the picture and doesn't have too uch detail so we can better focus on the character's face without being distracted. I specialized as a background artist for several years actually, so for me it's foregrounds I need to work on...
bakuraiscool (Feb 25, 2005)
Ooh, nice job Cacau! You're improving really quickly!

Princess Zelda. Holder of the Triforce of Wisdom. She never realy gets too much of a part in most of the Zelda games. But Windwaker and SSBM sorta made up for that.

I like the slightly older, teenage look she has. In a lot of the Zelda games they make her and Link out as being small children, which I feel takes away from its ability to suspend the belief of the audience and allow them to enter a fantasy world as they play since it's very unrealistic to have small children doing those things. So yeah, her somewhat more mature look is definately something I'm liking about this picture.

oooo! can i name him? PWEASE?!?!?
spiritdweller (edited Feb 27, 2005)
so what is it Gigge? an elephant, right? I love them, hehe, took a ride on one with my son when he was smaller :D I love the animal shows that they talk about elephants on... how they remember their friends and family, if they're separated or whatever... they can get back together after years and the way they act seems proof that they never forgot each other. so sweet :)... they also mourn their lost ones much the way people do... hehe... we also call my mother elephant ears... she's an avid eavesdropper.
davincipoppalag (Feb 27, 2005)
This is beatiful Gigge. The emotional intelligence you can see in an elephant's eye is there. YOu did great.
Gigge (Feb 28, 2005)
Lori: Yup, an elephant.. The reference is called "elephant closeup" . ;) I like them. I think their whole social system is amazing, especially the elephant graveyards.

Anna: Using a reference is like following directions to me. No matter what my intentions are or how hard I try, I can't do it. So kind of you to see my flaw as an asset.

silver maiden: Be careful what you name her. She might take offense at being called a he. ;)

Thanks everyone for the kind words. :)

Having trouble figuring out what to add to it to make it better
Shanghai (Feb 24, 2005)
I like that you've tried a very different format here that's so long. When I make paintings in class a lot of times I like to use long, thin formats like this. I think that this picture is a little heavy on the right side, maybe a small sailboat on the left would balance it out?

not sure what else to do with the picture as of yet lol

2draw dreams
Shanghai (edited Feb 27, 2005)
Is there such a thing as spending too much time here? Last night I had this really weird dream about this site. I was browsing the forums, except that it wasn't with a computer. Everything was written on a sidewalk at my school and each slab of concrete that makes up the sidewalk was like a seperate forum post. The posts still had people's icons next to them though. Does this happen to other people too? Please tell me it does... >_> Anyone have any other art related dreams? Ever draw a pictur...

Her face is wonderful. I love the opera, but I haven't been in years.

holy crap! you've been doing some great art lately Lori. and on a personal note I hope you are feeling as good as your art looks. 8)

Oh man, I love the colours and pose here. Her hands and face look a tad too blurry, but otherwise I love it. ;3

This is ultra cool!
Gigge (Feb 27, 2005)
This is really well done. I like not having the shading. It adds to the puzzle look. The two of them fit together like puzzle pieces and it takes a moment to puzzle out the angles. Very cool style, Pam.
thug (Feb 27, 2005)
This is very cool! no shading required.

I'm not entirely certain what kind of anthro he is. The face looks like a lizard but the ears are more like a dog, and lizards don't have hair (that's mammels only). Anyways, I think he works well with the background. The screen lines going through him and the background give some unity to this.
IdentityOne (Feb 27, 2005)
The lines really do work well, I think that has to be my favourite bit. It's a really nicely put together picture though, even if the subject matter isn't really my thing.
Kink (edited Feb 27, 2005)
thanks guys. I needed that. I've been out of drawing on here for a while because I have been lacking enthusiasm. But I think I will keep drawing to keep myself busy, even if I can't think of anything "good" to draw.
Oh yea, and I have no idea what he is either. But there is nothing saying that he isn't wearing a wig right?
