style revisited
method3
(Jun 3, 2003)
so i decided i should turn this into a worked piece (rather than a test drawing), and here's the final thing. now it's got a much darker feel which i like.-------- testing out new AA features. mess with AA but keep in mind that the larger your brush size gets, the slower it'll get. isn't that text crisp? *edit* oops, text AA was already in there! (a checkbox on the text tool popup) the thing about AA is that it is for small lineart (mostly sketching in otherwords). AA doesn't work well with large brush sizes, and it won't do too much if you're using a really soft brush either. AA can also screw up if your flow is really really low (below 150-180 or something).

A gift for my boyfriend. Looks like the kind of character he'd role-play... I hope he likes it! ^_^Oh, and I added a post that describes the texturing technique.

this is pretty....yes, I love the texture....looks like you drew it on rocks. :3

Ok, here's how I did the texture: 1. get a 1px solid brush, full opacity and full flow, and turn the spacing to max. 2. Select an off-white color 3. Make a new layer additive layer at about 40% and put it on top of your drawing. 4. Zoom waaaaaay out, and just make a bunch of horizontal lines, moving back and forth, down the page. 5. Repeat this with vertical and diagonal lines until you are satisfied with the texture. 6. Clone the layer, and make this new layer Multiply. Put it BELOW the additive layer. 7. Now zoom waaay in, and use the move-layer tool to move the layer up one pixel and right one pixel. 8. Play with the opacity of each layer until you are satisfied. You may have to darken the multiply layer a bit. Do this b grabbing a big burn brush and, using even strokes, softly darken the texture on this layer.

X'D the instructions look so complicated, but i really like how the texture turned out!!maybe i'll try the texture feature marcello was talking about :') everytime i use lascaux, there's something new to explore :D

I haven't a clue what minitsaru is talking about, I don't see any recognizable words at all... hell the only characters that are recognizably in a sequence are in the bottom left, and only a couple of them. |
