nice work! I agree with the above comments- sometimes the blend option helps, othertimes it can look to fuzzy...I think this reminds me slightly of botticellis venus rising from the waves...
longway (Apr 4, 2004)
thanks cm, like the name implies, i've come a long way, from where this drawing thing started almost 2 years ago now. and it is partly because of the help i have recieved from gifted artist's like both of you and others...can't thank everyone enough....
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Apr 4, 2004)
I'm not sure how he has this thing set up, but I've lost my connection completely a couple of times right after it began to submit.. came back and there my drawing was. Other places you lose it, you lose it. This is nice. For me to blend is absolutely necessary, but then to go back and paint another layer to add definition is also necessary to keep it from being smudgey or blurry. Great proportions and movement in this one.
Pandora (Apr 4, 2004)
This is wonderful for just learning the tools. Just wait until she becomes more real to look at. They may boot you off. lol just kidding. I would like to see you expand with a little more definiton in the back ground..Wonder what it would be like if you showed her shadow? Just curious. Very pretty and again the hair I want.

I really like this one. Awesome pic for sure, but I'm putting in an old request...please do another aerial view...I love those...(is your slate gettin' full now?)
davincipoppalag (Apr 6, 2004)
I'm trying to decide what I want to draw next...
Aubrey (edited Apr 13, 2004)
This is a picture that tells a story without even needing one written really. There's so much action invested in it and yet it's only a snapshot. Very cool and very nice Poppa :)

Tuukke (Apr 3, 2004)
good picture! i would also say that this is almost intermediate level :) great eyes and colours. great, i'll look some more of your pictures
Pandora (Apr 4, 2004)
Maybe once we get to know the tools, we can collaborate and do a pic together..Not sure how that works but sounds like fun. Davinc. told me to try and use the Opacity..spelling? and the flow it helps with the blending. I could be using that a little to much. lol The hair is always so interesting in your draws.
scarfeh (Apr 4, 2004)
She looks more like a...Shitika.I think this should be on the intermediate boards.

Can someone tell me, how can I correct smudges after the color is applied and to get that same color again is difficult. My other question is how do you apply reflections. Such as making glass. Any suggestions. Thanks everyone.

If you want an exact color match..just put your pointer on the color you want and right click.. it picks it right up. Reflections are harder. A light color with very low opacity in a small spot..with part of the low opacity area brightened up some with the dodge and burn tools. I frankly forget which is the dodge and which is the burn... but basically one of them makes things in the gray range lighter and the other makes it darker.. send a memo to someone who has done really good ones and ask them how they did it I am sure they will tell you. Hope this helps some..
Pandora (Mar 31, 2004)
davincipoppalag..thank you for answering and explaining everything to me. It sounds so easy just to click on the color and pick up the same one..I have to admit I was struggling. Looking forward to the day of understanding all the tools. Sorry to be a pest. Much thanks again,

This is just beautiful... so simple, yet so complicated at the same time with the sentiment behind it. I love the colors you used, too.

Whew....now I can actually go through your stuff I missed up until now.And dang, this is freakin' awesome^^;....looks like one of those collectibles my grandma has in her house.I'm really liking the bow and its sharpness(being defined well). The wall (I think...) in the bg has very nice lighting as well.Like FM said, I think this is one of your best ones if not #1^^.
