This is mostly concerning older artists here, since I'd expect most of the younger ones to not have had much exposure to this yet. When you make art do you think about the concepts behind it? Do you value technique and visual qualities over theory and communicative aspects? Are those all equally important parts of making art? an example I thought of is that in basketball there's a lot of math and physics involved. OMG!!! I looked at that and didn't pay attention, and was like, "hey that looks like..." to my husband and then I went "EEEEEEEEEEE it is marblehead!!!!" (I live in ohio and I have been there!! like an hour drive from my house!! )

A very noble profession is that of the Caricature artist. It's hard, but fun to do, and I've seen many people here on 2draw that are good at them. So, lets have a contest over who can make the best one! The Rules: The Caricature can be of anyone recognizable. The winner will exemplify a great likeness and some great art. This contest will run from 1/20/06 12:00am PST to 1/27/06 11:59pm PST
