Hi Donna..I have to admit, when I saw your comment I burst out laughing, I should have been immediately embarassed, but I knew you were correct, oh well even though I was a little embarrassed after the laughing, I know it is the effort and the learning after all, and it is a good thing to be able to laugh at yourself! LOL Jillj
Miss_DJ (Aug 19, 2007)
I think you're a great artist, Jill! And have a good sense of humor as well! Good for you! smiles, Donna
JillJJ (Aug 19, 2007)
Hi Donna! Thanks for the comment, but not great yet, I am still learning from all of you and sense of humor, definitely necessary! Thanks, Jillj

This almost looks like Too much grease on a grease fitting, shot from a grease gun.
clover_pocky (Aug 20, 2007)
It looks like a piece of your brain, Klox. All wrinkly - that's a good thing.
But brains are grey.

Hm.
I still like it.

Did you HAVE to say caramel? GIVE ME SOME!! :)
TheCrimsonKing (Sep 24, 2007)
Oh yeah man, this is beautiful. The shape is so eye catching , and that highlight on the outermost edge of the largest curve sets me right.

It's funny to me because your weight here is so low, it's not understood just how talented you are.
Let's get them up to date.
Steve's Murals

This looks just like you steve!
solo_mob (Sep 9, 2007)
fine color mixing is an incredible talent, in my experience. You've done an impressive job here, (and perhaps more impressively in those murals. IRL mediums are so fickle.)
This is a strong start.
shining_star_sam (Oct 16, 2007)
You look dishy :P I like how you used the green background to bring out your eyes. Well done.

Help me decide
Gemmy619 (Aug 18, 2007)
Hi all, ive just designed 2 of my own ambigrams for a tattoo i want but i cant decide which i like the best and was hoping you guys would help me decide which would look better. The ambigram reads "Family" (the normal way and when flipped upside-down) and its going to go on the inside of my wrist. Also if anyone has any ideas of how to make it look better plz let me know (not the obvious tidy it up a bit, ill leave that to the tattoo artist lol) ...

I work with a mouse, and not a tablet, I have done this with a referance picture of Alan Rickman from the film Sense and Sensibility (1995), and I've done it because I love this actor, and I like to paint things I really care about. Personally I don't consider this sort of thing (a strict copy by hand) a very original or artistic product. But, I like to do them. I think I learn to "see" the colours, and might by doing these, maybe be able to do better original work later. Hope someone likes it. - Miranda

great work! Nice style!
Twhippix (Aug 18, 2007)
thank you very much! =)
fleeting_memory (Aug 18, 2007)
You know-I've never seen that movie.
davincipoppalag (Aug 18, 2007)
I dont know why everyone is so down on using a "photo reference"., If you draw from life.. the model is a "reference",, if you draw from memory the mental image is a "reference".. just me blowin off about it.. this looks good . I would like things a bit sharper but I'm a pain in the ass about that.

Squint your eyes and look at this.
Sweetcell (Aug 18, 2007)
It's metallic and 3D in the thumb, yet organic in life size. I like where you've been going.
Kloxboy (Aug 18, 2007)
Thanks guys. I think smoothing out some of the edges would improve this image, I'll try that on a future piece.

backmagicwoman (Aug 18, 2007)
I agree. It's cute and I really like the way you textured the tree.
fleeting_memory (Aug 18, 2007)
It does look good from the thumbnail-though up close her face looks kinda long.
Miss_DJ (Aug 18, 2007)
I like the 3d-ish look especially seen in the thumb. I like the way you drew the tree, too!

This is from a beautiful photograph Dave took. (as most of his photographs are... exceptionally beautiful) I'm happy that he gave me permission to paint it, I enjoyed it so.

Thank you for sharing it with me, Dave. :)

I took an intermission between revisions and went to Surfside Beach for a week. :D

I know this is old, but for some reason I haven't seen this before and it's just so GORGEOUS. I'm in awe of the colors.

Nice. You even included the oily shine on the bubbles.
davincipoppalag (Aug 17, 2007)
Now this is a fun pic. One of my friends on DA had just posted some pictures of the "Bubbleman" running around laying these kind of big bubbles in the air. It's fun. Love this.
