o.o! Oh, no, no, Davi, I didn't mean to say it like that, I just was submitting my own opinion, not ... arg. *headdesk* Wow, I just reread that and I sound like an ass. I'm sorry~!!! *hug* I am, I'm sorry. ;-; (I still like this picture though, Klox.)

This is vaguely reminiscent of "The Scream" ..at least it has the same kind of emotion in it.. Great stuff This is... despair, this is fear, hurt. "The Scream" to me, is just frenetic, panicked energy being directed in the vague kind of implication of fear. This is... deeper, for some reason, closer to humanity rather than abstractism, declaring man as a small, weak being, rather than just a collection of shapes and colours. There is a raw quality in this as well that "The Scream" does not manage to convey. /\ What they said. :D

I would scream if I saw this, yet strangely I want it hanging on my wall. These have been tribal in their images. |

Aerial view of a river delta, an abstract interpretation of flames, a close up of a carved fruitwood walking stick, taffy, so many cool things to see!
Punky (Jul 20, 2007)
These are like, my favorite colours of all time. I love the shapes of this, and like davincipoppalag said, its fun to try and see new things in this.
Dr.Moony (Jul 20, 2007)
Nice to see you draw so much! All these paintings work well together. It's cool to see how the colors flow. And as Punky already stated, the colors are especially good/fresh/interesting in this one. I like also the red painting(previous) a lot! |

I look at this I see Giger. His pieces on structure, not his anatomy pieces. Can't help that, Am a Giger fan.Always, always a fan of your work Jem.

This has to be my favorite thing of yours so far.... aside from the beautiful nude that was placed in the Showcase recently. When doing this type of art you always seem to manage to keep what I note as the Navajo "weaving tradition" of leading us in, and allowing us a way out. It may not be intentional, maybe it's subconscious, but I always notice that and then I'm comfortable looking at it. This is an ingenious work of abstract art, and I see innumerous things in it that I could comment on, but since I talk too much, I'll just leave it at that :).
Sweetcell (Jul 16, 2007)
innumerous I love that word. You get extra internet cookies for working that word into your comment. :)

For some reason it reminds me a of the rusted cityscapes of new york - you know, fire escapes, that kind of stuff? Like looking down into a dilapidated metropolis.Maybe not, but I wanted to say dilapidated metropolis. No, really, it does. ;) I really admire your use of color, it's always fascinating to see what you'll put together.
davincipoppalag (Jul 15, 2007)
You got some trippy stuff goin on here lately ...cool
Sweetcell (Jul 16, 2007)
This looks like the inside of an Art Deco hotel lobby. Large frosted glass doors with the sweeping lines classic to Art Deco decore with round stairs leading to a sunken lobby floor with a glass bottom. If this place were real, I would want to stay there. One of my fave's. |
