thank you Poppa and Pantera!

I think someone was dropped on their head early on, Donna... no other explanation as to why or how a 40+ year old man could be so ridiculous. This is very nice. The preoccupation with farting and burping is obviously a character trait he can't help. Jillj
Sweetcell (Oct 21, 2007)
Has a nice watercolor feel, touched up with oils. Nicely don Donnagal.

I think it is really just mediocre. Jillj
Sweetcell (Oct 21, 2007)
This ones interesting. Looks like ink laid out on oil.
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Oct 21, 2007)
I suppose you could say that, although the spelling is different and you can leave out the "medi" completely:o·cher or o·chre (?'k?r) Pronunciation Key n. Any of several earthy mineral oxides of iron occurring in yellow, brown, or red and used as pigments. A moderate orange yellow, from moderate or deep orange to moderate or strong yellow. Nothing he paints is "medi"ocre.

This view behind my restaurant captured my attention, the color lines were so stark defined by the high intensity sodium vapor light I had to try to capture this.
Axil62 (Oct 8, 2007)
I have a feeling JillJJ is about a half a bubble off plumb.
JillJJ (Oct 8, 2007)
Barb, no offense taken, and your comment certainly does not sound mean. I looked at the same view tonight to see if the bottom of the pic was what I might work out. It is actually a striped lot and another streetlight. What if any are your thoughts on finishing..?? Jillj
Sweetcell (Oct 8, 2007)
I think what it is, is it looks sketchy. Especially the streaks coming from the lamp post. If you were to try using blend and just feather those linesout they wouldn't be as stark. Put some shading on the left side of the post for contrast, use the dark green on the bottom to blend into the trees so they don't look like they're floating, and work a little more on the sky it would look more polished. These are just suggestions. I know it's hard sometimes to get critique. I do like this, just needs tweaking I feel.
JillJJ (Oct 9, 2007)
Hi Barb, I am very happy to get critical comments, especially when someone is willing to help with suggestioins. This is a great way to learn and improve. I really appreciate the input! Thanks! Jillj |

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jokinbcn/1513501972/Made him stumpy. Damn glasses.
JillJJ (Oct 8, 2007)
This has a pen and ink feel, the trees in the background are amazing and I can't see anything at all wrong with the glasses. I like it! Jillj
shining_star_sam (Oct 14, 2007)
Very nice sweetcell! What's his number? lol jk.
HolyCow (Oct 14, 2007)
I like the feel of this picture :)I've always liked this style, and the trees in the background look really neat. As for your comment on the glasses, to me it more seems that the angle of the nose is just a smidge off which in turn makes the sunglasses seem like they're at a funny angle or broken or something. I think maybe if you adjusted the nose ever so slightly towards his left lens (our right) it would look less "stumpy" hehe :) Sorry if that didn't make much sense, but I tried. Good job, though. I really like this :D
Sweetcell (Oct 14, 2007)
No it does make sense HC, the nose in the picture is at a strange angle and hard to capture. I have to try another one of these.Tankies. |

Gypsy horses are one of the most magnificent breeds, their manes and tails are a distinguishing feature, incredibly long and beautifully flowing when caught on the wind
Pantera (Oct 7, 2007)
They are beautiful, you did a good job :)
