Hey now! I have always thought you draw VERY well... don't cut yourself short, kejo! You're great! I think this portrait is comin' along really well :-) The skin tones are so pretty. Those shine spots on her face are great and look very realistic. Keep it up!! :-D
DeadlyBlondeArcher (Jan 15, 2005)
This is coming along great, and you are always way too hard on yourself. Some of your stuff has knocked me out of my chair... stop kicking yourself.

Where has this been hiding! This looks like a a depiction of the Easter Island heads, when they were alive, and holding meetings.... very cool picture you two
Ty854 (Jun 21, 2005)
Yes, I believe they are discussing where Easter Island is located. :)

This picture makes me look for stuff that isn't there. I like it.
Gigandas (Aug 5, 2005)
I see some Giger in this one too, although it's not quite as sharp or creepy. I love all the weird details that Giger uses in his paintings as well as how he can mold realistic people into whatever his mind can come up with. He's probably my biggest influence as well and I'm glad to see others like his work too :).
Xodiak (Aug 5, 2005)
Xod likes the organic and metallic feel of the drawing. I also like the texture with the veins. Quake 2 comes into my mind when looking at this drawing. Amazing artwork! <:D

me007 (Aug 13, 2005)
Woo, love that movie! And according to the public, it also had the best theme song of the time, if not ever. Awsome style Rosemary, this picture is way cool.
Rosemary (Aug 13, 2005)
thanks everyone...i love drawing in this style lol.. and i dont know me007...i still like louis armstrong = all the time in the world and nancy sinatra's you only live twice better as Bond themes ;)
me007 (Aug 15, 2005)
Heh, yeah You Only Live Twice is a pretty good theme, Louis Armstrong's "All the Time in the World" Isn't an actual bond theme though, just a song that they used in "On Her Majasty's Secret Service" I still keep comming back to look at it, its so good, hah I knew who it was right away!

I don't know if this should be in the intermediate board ,I have put it here because i don't know how much space it will end up taking up.
I wanted to draw a snake up a tree and this how the picture ended up, the tool i used was the pen.I was going to add clour to it but when I did it didn't look right so I am going to leave it black and white.

That's what I was going to say , too Gigge. It looks like it was done as a book illustration plate.
sincity (Aug 12, 2005)
Digs this. :}
HunterKiller_ (Aug 12, 2005)
Interesting draw. Reminds me of old old Disney cartoons...
lycene (Aug 12, 2005)
I agree with HunterKiller--this is a very interesting pic, and the detail is almost consuming. I have the hardest time with lineart, so that makes me appreciate this much more.

Gigge (Jun 8, 2004)
Although I like doodling, this is my first online drawing and first real drawing of any kind since about the age of 12. Good to see that my skills have only partially deteriorated...sigh. The subject matter isn't very interesting, but this was mostly an exercise in learning the blending tools. Any criticisms, critiques or helpful comments would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to improve!

Thanks,
Gigge

I think it's very interesting, Gigge. I love the colors and you seem to be catching on quite well already. Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures. :)
Gigge (Jun 8, 2004)
Yeah, Cheese (so used to calling you that) it's the same Gigge. I found you! haha And, I went to look at your gallery. I'm floored. Very impressive.

I read the rules twice VisceralVamp. I see that I'm over the size limit, but I don't know how to correct that. Help, please :/

This is all very new to me, but it seems like alot of fun. Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

I took VisceralVamp's suggestion and reworked this pic now that I have a clue (just a small one) about the tools.

lycene (Aug 2, 2005)
Stumbled across her while doing a search for reference pictures of birds, and figured this would be more fun to do. (Yay, portraiture.) She was the first female Australian aviator.

First Advanced posting, hope it's OK.

Edit: Made it sepia in Photoshop: Link, Take 2

I'm actually proud of this one, yay.

Thanks so much, JK! I had problems getting the relative darkness and shadows correct, as I work from print-outs, and my printer is almost out of black and white ink. The whole pic ended up several shades lighter, with horizontal lines running through the whole thing (eew)! I didn't want to go into too much detail in the clothing, as I wanted to really focus on the face. (That, and I got lazy). I probably should have made the shadows much purer than they actually are.
Hideyourface, I can't really see the angle difference, but that's probably just me being biased and blind because I drew it. Oh, well, too late to fix it now.
Gigge (Aug 5, 2005)
I like this alot. I think it conveys that sense of free-spirit and adventure that she must have had to compel her to fly.
Renuar (Aug 5, 2005)
Much talent. Good draw. I look forward to seeing more.

this is very cool, it reminds me of the guy from the movie Creep.
Cordelia_Pink (edited Jun 25, 2005)
yes, it does look really good even without a reference. I like the teeth too and the dark blueness of the eyes. Good job. This looks like those 'silent' monsters from Buffy this looks less scary.
LisaAnne (Aug 11, 2005)
The teeth are wonderful...haha I have an obsession with teeth in my sculptural work. Has a real atmosphere to it...with the breath coming out into the darkness.
KH44N (Aug 11, 2005)
The eyes as well as the teeth look tremendous!
