Ok this is weird. This drawing I did last night and it totally disappeared. I went to go in and draw today and it popped up instead of the normal page where you select your options for drawing. That is just too odd. O.o I thought it had been deleted or something.

Yeah sometimes when you think you lost a pic the next time you go to draw it tells you you have something to submit... I'm always grateful when that happens. I really like this one. And I appreciate how creative you are with all of your drawings.

Getting frustrated. For some reason it whacked out on me and keeps putting lines up that i am not drawing and then like I am trying to use a light tan and it will draw with a blue. O.o Figured I'd save and try to go back and work on it and see if that helps. Doing this from an old photo

taking a break from this one to figure out what I want to do with the background. Dunno if I want to do the actual background or something else but fixed the eye which was bothering me. The eye is a bit off for a reason. :P Will come back to this later.

this is very cute, a keeper. heh almost makes me wish I had had kids, but , nah, I like other people's kids. too bad about the Lascoux, i never use it, never could get used to it, and Chibi-paint has some great qualities. You paint very well, despite technical difficulties. good choice of photo, sweet. ( don't let this little one grow up!) yeah, breaks help. (I love the dog with gleaming eyes in all black.)

(do people here know, doing paintings of peoples pets, and dogs has become very popular?more popular than human portraits.I would paint, draw, some one's pooch for money.$$$ also, would be a challenge and fun. but nothing could ever top dogs playing poker! Genius! (some faces are not perfectly symetrical, just off a pinch, I noticed years ago. it's pretty common.)

and of course I finally get it to load and now my computer is being wonky (I think over heating cause it is frigging hot in here) so I have to save and hope it loads later. The monitor is messing up and I can't see the colors correctly and I was losing internet.

very nice work Zep, I love the ink wash feel to this one, great graphical feel to it! I could see this on a huge poster in a restaruant or theatre gallery, love it!

Very cool, silk screen look, was this done with layers, and masking? I am a newbie and would love some pointers on how this is done. :D thanks

thanks, I use layers, I don't find masking very useful unless you are using your brush with anti-alias turned off, it's always screwing up around edges. I use the round brush on full flow/opacity with the soft edge, the third one down to the left of the brush size selector thingy, and then use the same eraser to whittle down or define the shapes. This is a lot like using the pen tool, if you're familiar with shi-painter, but without the flow. Lascaux has a really useful 'preserve layer transparancy' thing that can be used a little like mask and will preserve the smooth edges, that's how I did the crane in the feather shape. I drew in the feather shape on a new layer in all one colour, then preserved transparancy, so I could draw the crane in without messing up the details on the edges of the feathers. The girl and background are on the bottom layer, the spine on the next, and then the feathers and crane on top.

wow, this is fantastic! great critter, good details. yeah, i have trouble with my pen being touchy, too, and i'm too lazy to learn the settings.

still, it's so much easier than using an ink-filled rapidograph, or a quill pen. i still can't believe i used to do stuff in black ink, for years,afraid the ink would blot, and ruin it. and i did it anyway, there was nothing else; we're so spoiled now, thank god. love yer picture! it is really beautiful.

Thank you :) Yep I agree I get frustrated sometimes when I try to do my non digital stuff though I do need to work on it more.
